I had a bunch of relative a couple of years ago take a bus tour with a bunch of dubs to go to Bethel and Walkill. While my wife showed interest in going, I'd rather have my eyes dilated and be forced to stare into the sun than to be stuck on a couple of buses full of dubs. They also went through the DC and Niagara Falls. Bethel was just a side trip.

Went to the grocery store and...
by Cindi_67 ini went to the grocery store on sunday and there was a lady in front of us paying for her purchase.
i believe she was a witness because the clerk asked if she had a good thanksgiving and she said " oh, i don't celebrate thanksgiving, but had a nice day off.
i just needed to tell somebody..

Some JWs wear it as a badge of honor that they are supposedly so different and always try to use it as an impetus for a conversation whenever they have a chance. That stupidity of always looking for every opportunity to "witness".

Every year at ThanksGiving..Jehovah`s Witness`s all over North America..Have a "It`s not a ThanksGiving Turkey dinner!",turkey dinner.......To officially make it a "It`s not a ThanksGiving Turkey Dinner!",turkey dinner..You must talk about why it`s not a ThanksGiving Turkey Dinner",while stuffing your face with Turkey!.
Exactly right. this year, my wife is refusing to accompany me to my relatives house to share in fellowship and eat because she doesn't want to give them the impression that she is "celebrating", but I've over heard her on the phone asking her mother and sister about the food they are either buying or preparing for the day.
She even had the nerve to tell me the other day that I've been "invited" to a dinner one of the "friends" giving ....another one of their gatherings.....I guess to officially "not observe" the holiday tomorrow. I'm tempted to go, take pictures, then go to my relatives, take pictures, and then ask her to show me how either of those festivities are different from the other, both with people taking advantage of an opportunity to get together in a group to share in food and fellowship with no indians being killed, no one getting their heads chopped off, an no sacrifices or worship to Satan being offered.

"Where's your jacket brother"

"where is your jacket"!!!!
nice greeting!!

I also find myself doing that. Whenever I do go to a JW function with her, I find myself intentionally wearing or doing something that makes me stand out whether it's displaying overt happiness about the way my life is going without them or refusing to wear a jacket or tie.

Long after I was out, my wife continued to take my son to the meetings. At one time in his life he was growing faster than we could keep up and his meeting clothes got a little tight. to continue to try to make the meetings in comfort, he started wearing the collar of his shirt open, no tie and no jacket. Well, one day they both came from meeting and I could see that he was clearly upset. The wife had stood by and allowed the "brothers" to grill him about his dress dress, particularly, no tie and jacket, things he couldn't help because he was growing faster than we could keep up. These were the same "brothers" BTW who tried grilling me when I decided to go back to school, but that's another story...... I could tell at that time that his days of attempting to tow the JW line were done. I didn't have to say anything, they'd done all the work for me.

Watch out for ......RELATIVES!
by Gill inrelatives can be a problem.
at least in the eyes of the wt society, relatives are a threat to the mind control tactics they employ on their slaves.. the thing is, relatives may well love their relations who have unfortunately become trapped in the watchtower lies and so may try to reason, help, rescue and perhaps even get cross when trying to release their loved ones who continue to be ensnared in the watchtower trap!.
i noticed in the last two watchtowers that relatives are mentioned specifically and wondered how far the road of isolationism of their members the watchtower is now willing to go in warning their members against those who may try to help them.. december 15th watchtower, page 22 para 8:.

It makes me sick when they do that. Get in a large group amongst a familial gathering and start talking Jw garbage, as if anyone came there to hear all that vomit. All they're trying to do is draw out a question from anybody so they can give a "good witness".

You probably wouldn't have wanted anything to do with astroworld during it's later years. The place had turned into one big ghetto-blasting, wanna-b gang bangers babysitting service the section 8 crowd sent their kids to during the summer. It has lost it's charm of being "family friendly" long ago.
