When I first faded my wife was heading out to the meeting with her mother and a friend and her mom said "aren't you worried about G finding another man at the hall" to which I replied "not really, if she's a whore I would rather find out now than later...
Full on aggression at it's best. It took me awhile but I eventually determined that that was what it took when dealing with my wife and her JW family. Put them on the defensive and keep them there.

"Look man, My wife basically laid on the line that I was to not have ANY association with you whatsoever, or she'll have her bags packed". Which I camly replied "Look dude, I really don't need this to go any further than us discussing WTS doctrine amongst ourselves, if it's going to jepordize your marriage, I can deal not hanging with ya' for a while, if you need to lay low." The phone call unexpectedly ended.

If my wife said anything like that to me, I'd have taken her ass home on the spot and packed her bags myself!
i have recently left the wts and almost have my da letter ready to send.
my wife is still in and is higly upset by my stand.
she is afraid she'll lose her parents because they are still jw's and refuses to leave the wts, she still beleives it.
when my wife comes home from the meetings, she thanks me for "sparing her". She always thanks me for "allowing" her to go to the meetings, aux. pioneer, assemblies, etc. She knows I don't believe in the organization. And yet we've reached a comfortable arrangement of divided faith. I support her as much as I can--I went to great lengths to show this to her, that despite my lack of faith, I would support hers.
My wife does the same things, though I never describe how I feel about the WT organization with any negative connotation that somehow I am lacking. I always deal with any issue brought up from a position of strength with no hint of there may be something wrong with me in any way because I'm not agreeable to their positions.

I'd probably be having a serious talk with my wife about what information she's potentially been sharing with this person to prompt her being included in that snide remark.
What was her reaction to that remark? Did she follow the typical JW tact of passively agreeing in public and then trying to smooth it over with a excuse later to save face?

With that attitude, it's more likely that her next husband will come with a rechargeable battery pack.

on another thread, i saw how elders were after someone for money as soon as someone died in their family, more than once.
this happened to my mom for years after my dad died, insurance settlements, lawsuit settlements, they wanted as much as they could possibly squeeze from a widow with three kids.
anyone else see this?

I would attempt to dig myself out of the ground if for one second I thought that they'd get any more money that what I think my wife is already giving them, which I don't think is very much.

Haven't read the book but Is this that classes video of the lady going to the memorial chewing popping gum like a cow chewing cud and loudly slurping whine and crunching the stale bread. I thought it was classless act myself.
