Hi, Globetrotter,
If you wish to use the blood issue, look this over: http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/41260/1.ashx
I must warn you though, that when you back them in a corner (and you will), they tend to get mad. (Grin)

i got into a rather heated discussion this morning with my unbaptised but raised jehovah's witness wife.
we discussed so many things: feb 1 watchtower article on 607 and 1914, the un, beth sarim, blood, god's mouthpiece here on earth, etc.
this was yet another attempt on my part to try to plant a seed of doubt.

at a meeting-------what would it have been?
i can imagine making a comment at the watchtower study after reading blondie's review and spouting some of her research from the publications to mess everybody up or give a public talk and say something like," as we all know, the society has blundered many, many dates in the past and given some false prophecies, too-----but that doesn't mean we should stop trusting them, now does it????
"
LOL, minimus!
Actually, that was about 10 years before and in another congregation than the one I was disfellowshipped in!

my nephew sent me this problem that his teacher gave him.
you have to go through each line only once and come back to the starting point.
start wherever you want but you have to come back to that starting point without missing one line.
LOL!
Yup, I remember this one too. The solution is somewhat "creative". However, I'll let Eric educate you folks.

LOL, Blondie!
I think you and I would have gotten along just fine!
I've said a few things too. One in particular was when the Watchtower Conductor ran across the word "flatulence", looked up at the congregation with a big smile and asked, "What does that word mean?"
I looked at him in astonishment, shrugged and thinking to myself that he'd asked for it, raised my hand. Everybody else was looking for a hole to crawl in. Sure enough, he called on me. "That's a fart." I chirped. He dang near fell off the stage.
Then after I was DFed, I went to meetings and did most everything else just like I always did, as I didn't give a damn what their opinion was anyway. One pompous idiot of an elder (the same one that went running frantically out to my aged father wanting to know if I was going to bomb the Kingdom Hall) was making it a point to be real snooty every chance he got. I just smiled and bided my time.
Finally, in a semi-public letter (2 congregations, the Society, 3 Circuit and 1 District Overseer) I recounted the experience I had in a Kingdom Hall back in Charlotte, NC when I went back to see my daughter and family. I was sitting about 2/3's of the way up towards the front on the aisle when an elder walked up beside me, dropped his hand to my shoulder and smiled real big when I looked up. "I hear that we're not supposed to speak to you." He said real friendly like.
"Yup! That's about the case!" I grinned back.
"Well, we wanted to let you know that we're glad to see you anyhow!" Then he gave my shoulder a squeeze and walked away.
As I continued in the letter, "How I wish you could have experienced that and then came back to this congregation and have Br. XXX come sailing by with a hostile attitude and his nose so high in the air that it is in danger of frostbite! What a contrast!
"I suppose that he thinks that he is inspiring me to come back into the congregation with this conduct, and he is, oh, yes! For every time he does it, it reminds me of the 400 lb. fat lady I saw waddling down the street in stretch pants in Southern California many years ago. In short, they are both ludicrous, hilarious, and equally inspiring."
It's funny, but for some reason he's been as nice as pie ever since. ROTFLOL!!!
Oh, by the way, both Alan F. and Farkel have been in dire need of a good enema for a long time now. (Please let them know I said this) I've been meaning to get to this little job for some time, but have been clear up to my rear in alligators and haven't had the chance yet. However, the Good Lord willin' and the creek don't rise, it won't be long now.

some people left the organization because of the united nations scam, 1975, the "generation" change, child abuse issues, not feeling the "love" of the brotherhood, etc.
in all honesty, is there something----that if it hadn't happened----would have kept you still in?
for example, if the child abuse issues were resolved properly, perhaps, some of those that left because of the mishandling, might still be at the meetings.
LOL, outoftheorg!!
Yup! Fond memories all! Probably the biggest thing for me was their plain, old common, ordinary lunacy. LIke:
1. The appalling treatment of the teenagers in the congregation. Those poor kids couldn't even hold hands without all the old biddys cackling up a storm.
2. Their ban against "independent thinking". I figure that the most critical time to think independently is when someone demands that you don't. I'll give up my ability to think, right about the same time that the collective GB proves to me that they are all man enough to roll a doughnut down the Grapevine (A very high pass on I-5 in Southern California) and have 10 orgasms with it before it reaches the bottom, and not before.
3. Their hauling me in front of a judicial committee on a charge of demonism because I used the phrase, "Let me play the Devil's advocate for a moment".
4. My brother's (an elder) refusal to give me an opportunity to explain a matter that he had jumped to the wrong conclusion about. So I hauled HIS worthless ass in front of a committee and explained it to the whole bunch.
5. The inability of any congregation committee (with precious few exceptions - individuals all) to reflect ANY of the fruitages of the spirit.
6. Their endlessly assuming that they know more about what I am thinking than I do. Like I phrased it in writing to them once, "Why you continually attempt to read other's minds is beyond me, as I have never in my life met a group of men so utterly devoid of the ability to do so. You are rarely even in the right ballpark, let alone on base!"
Etc., etc. I could fill a book with this stuff. I'd better stop, as I don't want to stumble any of you sweet, innocent, folks.

Narkissos ---
That's intriguing, and I'd like to think on that a bit. Could you enlarge on it a little? A few initial questions in my mind would be:
1. Would it be possible? One would need to gain absolute truth in order to examine it critically. Wouldn't that be like gaining the goal of infinity in order to examine the path that leads to it?
2. If my perception of your words is correct, you are emphasizing that we need to be skeptical about that which is passed off as absolute truth. My point is that the simple fact itself, that a man --- or all mankind for that matter --- should have a body of knowledge, is enough to relegate that knowledge to the realm of "relative truth", for we humans do not have access to "absolute truth". There is always something more to know! In this way, the skepticism is built right into the equation. Or am I missing something here?
Gumby --- Well, actually, I haven't! There was quite a bit of confusion about a year ago when Simon changed the look of the board, and my account got all messed up, I don't know how. I've been wanting to get with him and get it straightened out, but this past year has been absolutely crazy and I haven't had the time. I can't even access my messages, and I know some are in there, because folks have emailed me and told me they were.
I hesitate to recount too much of this past year, because everyone will think I'm a blasted liar. It's been THAT wild. And I've got a wild reputation in the first place! LOL!
I didn't address Norm's comment then because it looked to me that he was addressing Aaron. Hope I didn't hurt his feelings! (Grin)

"What is truth?" I posted a subject with that heading right here on the board back in May of 2001. I'd still be interested if anyone could add to the concepts mentioned there:

every so often i get a phone call from jt and i thoroughly enjoy our conversations.
no only do i learn a little more about the inner workings of bethel, we also end up laughing to the level of blowing snot out of our noses.
one of the topics that we discussed this time was the inability of farmers, short order cooks, and retired janitors disguised as elders that try to use their breakfast cereal box psychology to fix complex marital problems of their flock.
Hmmm. Far be it from me to be an apologist for the Organization, but on the other hand I don't want to be unfair either. It's been about 20 years since my time in Alaska (11 years worth) and things up there are a lot different than in the Lower 48. Much of the state is inaccessable to most everything except air or dog sled, and many of the brothers are pilots in their own right. Airplanes are, up there, much like 4-wheel drives are down here. It seemed to me that about half the brothers in Fairbanks, for instance, had their own airplanes.
If the Branch in Anchorage owned an airplane I wouldn't be surprised at all. Many times it is 500 miles between congregations, and if the Circuit Overseer wanted to serve an isolated group in Bethel (the Eskimo village), Nome, Kotzebue, or Barrow, there are no roads to any of them. Bethel is 420 miles as the crow flies due west of Anchorage, and it's the closest. We "served where the need is great" there for 3 1/2 years, and the Circuit Overseer came in twice a year to visit us. They also served the Yukon Territory, and that's about 700 miles in the opposite direction. I would say that the Branch could save enough to buy a fairly decent airplane every year, just buy saving all the airfares for the Circuit Overseer's visits. I'd also say that if they went that route, I wouldn't be surprised and would figure it as being a good way to go, financially speaking.
Airplanes are considered pretty much of a luxury here in the Lower 48. Up there, many times, they are necessities, like in the Australian Outback. With airplanes being that common, taking one of the Society's big-wigs out sightseeing is merely normal hospitality, much like someone in Flagstaff, AZ hauling someone up to the Grand Canyon in their SUV. It's no big deal. I might add that some of the sights in Alaska rival the Grand Canyon, both in size and grandeur. Texans knew better than to brag on Texas up there, because we'd just say, "Ahhh, hesh up! If you don't, we'll divide Alaska up into two parts and make Texas the 3rd biggest state!" LOL! I've walked up to small creeks that were so full of fish that it looked like the whole bottom of the creek was moving. It makes your eyes bug out.
The Organization has plenty to answer for, but I feel that criticizing them about flying out to go fishing in Alaska is not something we should waste our time on.

e-watchman has decided to embrace the unholy watchtower whore and uphold her disgusting burdens on blood transfusions.
for the record, i now have e-watchman's email address and will be sending him copies of my commentary shortly after they are posted.
i have edited the content where necessary for sheer space (his verbiage is excessive and tiresome).
Hi, Czar,
I have two thoughts on this, although let me congratulate you first on your clear presentation.
The first is that one can take the blood arguement to an even deeper level, and I think that it would be a level that the Society would be desperate to stay out of, as it destroys the very foundation of their argument. It is a take-off on Jesus' question as to which makes the other holy, the alter, or the sacrifice on the alter? In this case, would it be the blood, or the life in the blood?
I posted an analysis of this about a year ago on this board for the benefit of that Canadian brother who was DFed for allowing his daughter to receive a blood transfusion. You can find it here, if you're interested:
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/41260/1.ashx
Secondly, I'm going to disagree (friendly like) with Stephanus that E-Watchman/YouKnow/Walter Reyes has anything at all to worry about concerning the Society finding out about him. I have felt for a long time now that his writing, lack of fear, and attitude -- and especially his endurance in the face of almost universal condemnation --- smacked of a man who was performing an assignment that was given him by his superiors. Those superiors would be the Society itself, perhaps even members of the GB. The rationale would be, of course, that those "innocent sheep that accidentally wander into the apostate websites need to see a counter argument to the heresies therein."
His departures from the party line would be merely a part of the cover necessary to prevent the members of this board from becoming overly alarmed. (Is there anyone out there who thinks the Society wouldn't be that sneaky?) LOL!
Even the fact the he is in the Canadian branch fits, considering the personalities involved. After witnessing their duplicity in such matters as the UN and their legal conduct, should it surprise any of us if they wish to "compartmentalize" the possible damage if this matter should become public? The fact that he is a minor official of a branch office outside the country should go far to maintain their "plausible deniablility". Think about it.
sf did quite a job of gaining information on him. I was unaware that such was available. I would suggest that some footwork needs to be done, both literally and figuratively. Would Hawkkaw have contacts that would throw light on this?
In my past reading of YouKnow's writings, he doesn't strike me as the type to "frame" anyone, especially anyone in the "mother" organization.
We cannot expect the Society to admit that they put him up to this --- in words. However, they can be made to tell us in other ways. Pin this matter down as much as possible, and then make sure that the Society receives all information. If they do nothing, then we know that they already knew all about it, as well as a good hunch that the reason they won't do anything to him is that he knows too much and has them by the balls.
If they do punish him, then he will finally have his eyes open as to the qualifications of his "loving shepherd", and most of his noisiness will subside.
For what it's worth ...........

this past july, my only sister decided i was an apostate.
she contacted my former cong.
and spoke to the elders.
Hi, Heather,
Keep your chin up. You're not the one doing anything wrong.
It's been about 16 years now since I was DFed for something I didn't do. This is a fact that is known by my entire family, the elders, and even higher-ups, and they've admitted it. However, they aren't allowed to acknowledge it officially, which means that they want me to pretend to be "repentant" so that they can pretend to be "forgiving". Bull.
As I've told them very pointedly, repeatedly, and publically, if they can't even exercise justice when they realize that they are wrong, then any claim they may make to being Christian is a laughable joke. They crapped their own bed --- they can now blame well lay in it. I'm not about to bail them out.
It looks to me like your sister is a prime candidate for the same treatment. In reality, she needs to be disfellowshipped for running ahead of the congregation in "disfellowshipping" you! What arrogance!
How I'd love to see her face if you countered with that statement! LOL!
