i happened upon the following item while surfing the net this evening.

QUESTION - Do our pets go to Heaven?

Dear Curtis,
The Bible doesn't say that dogs go to Heaven. Neither does it say they don't. The Bible's focus is on Jesus and the salvation of humans.

We DO know that there are horses in heaven (Rev 19.11, 2 Kings 2.11).

The best thing for your friend to do is to ask God to take her dog to Heaven. God always listens to His children and their needs. If your friend prays for her dog, then the best way to comfort her would be to assure her of the power of prayer, and God's kindness in granting His children's requests.

Reckon this same person would say that there are also real dragons in heaven, simply because Revelation 12 makes reference to a 7-headed dragon?

My Husband Just Thinks I am Being Vindictive

my mom and sister came down in november "during thanksgiving" break.

my mom has been a jw since i was 1 year old.

But I want so much to email my sister and simply ask her if she has ask the "ELDERS!!!" for forgiveness.
I know if this was actually found out that she would be publicly humiliated. I am typically not a vindictive person....So why am I so enticed with badgering my sister with this info? Besides wanting to get the "last dig in" before they completely disown me?

"Love never fails." If you fail to show love your sister will have something on YOU.

Conduct your affairs in such a way that you'll have no regrets later on in life. None of us know what might develop with the passing of enough time.

An error is not per definition a lie. However, it does when one knows it to be an error yet teach it as truth.

The WTS doesn't "know" it to be an error because they believe otherwise.

... all evidence, both biblical and secular points to the year 586/7 for that event. The society knows this.

To "know" such a thing doesn't require that they accept it as fact.

Some claim you should not atack articles of faith. However this doctrine is not brought to you as pure something you have to accept on faith. No, they claim that it is backed up with prophecy, biblical and secular evidence. This date 607 is preached as were it an established, accepted fact. It is not. This could also be classified as lying.

Yes, the WTS believes that events since 1914 fulfilled the "prophecy" of Matthew 24:7. This, to them, gives strong reason for sticking to their 607-1914 calculation. Of course I personally don't accept the 1914 doctrine, for more than one reason, but I disagree with people who say that the WTS is guilty of "lying" in relation to their 607 date.

It seems that some people tend to think of an inacuracy as always being "a lie" ... instead of an error. Yes, although something that isn't "true" can be a "lie," there is such a thing as someone sincerely believing that something is true and accurate, yet is not ... which of course is then NOT "a lie".

A certain JW doesn't believe in the 1914 doctrine any longer.

This, of course, naturally gives rise to certain serious problems. For example, how can this person now continue to participate in field service activities and make use of the publications produced by the WTS? Since such publications themselves continue to acvocate the 1914 doctrine then this would obviously create a dilemma for this "publisher". Also, this publisher's dilemma is further compounded by reason of the fact that the 1914 doctrine is frequently a part of the meeting's study material, student talks ... and is even within the lyrics of certain kingdom melodies.

What does the WTS expect such a person to do in view of a situation that is obviously beyond this publisher's control? Fact: The publisher is NOT simply spiritually weak, because he knows for a fact that the kingdom wasn't established in 1914. It appears that the publisher has no choice but to become inactive, both with regards to field service and meeting attendance.

What do you think would be the reponse if a member of the Governing Body became aware of this publisher's dilemma? Do you know? Anybody have any personal experience as a result of having faced this very situation?
