I received a call from my book study conductor the other day asking for my email address so that he could start sending electronic copies of the KM to me. Has anyone else received calls like this? I've missed quite a few meeting (it's been nice) so am unaware if any letter has been read. I didn't have the heart to tell him he was late to the game on this one for me. In hindsight, searching for electronic KMs is in part what led me to this sight and started my quest for learning more about TTATT.

Something to pay attention to, if you go to the Memorial...

if you're having to go to this thing tonight, pay attention to how the speaker explains the timing of events at the passover meal, and then compare that to what the bible actually says.... an oldie, but one of my better goodies, i think.... .
yes, it's time for that annual ritual...no, no...not the ritual of nibbling on crackers and sipping cheap wine, but the ritual of comparing wt teachings of how jesus instituted the memorial versus what the bible actually says.. current wt theology.... as cut and pasted from their own website:.

Nauseating JW.org section for small children - CUTOUTS? Really?
by BluePill2 ini am not hot linking to jw borg, but they have a whole section for obviously very small children (become j's friend, with a whole array of caleb-related stuff).
i have actually never visited the site, today was the first time, because i wanted to check a technical information about their websites architecture and came across this sh*t!.
the way they are targeting small kids is nauseating me (i have a 5 year old, still in with her mother).

First post after a year or two of lurking on this site-Sorry for the length!
by Pattytheperfect1 innot sure of the point of telling my story, but just got off the phone with my grandma and i am so angry, stressed and i don't know what else...i guess i just wanted to hear from someone other than my husband that i'm not crazy for my reaction to family interaction.. my condensed story gramatical errors and all :).
father was a born in jw, mother was a convert.
i was born the last of 3 siblings and shortly after my birth in 1981 my parents divorced.

You're not crazy. My heart goes out to you. I was abused too when I was younger, but not by a JW or family member. In second grade, there was a homosexual bully that was stronger than me. Because of fear and guilt, I endured it for half a year. It really screws you up in the mind, and a half-assed apology doesn't make it right, especially in your case when you know they are only doing apologizing for the sake of getting reinstated.

How many use their tablet and ipads at the mtg ...for internet surfing?
by stuckinarut2 inso if you are still an attender, how many use their tablets or ipads during the mtg for 'non theocratic' purposes?.
i often log on here, and post during the mtg (if no one is sitting behind me that would notice).

Minimus is right. We should never "expect" our views to change someone else's view. It's not our right to say our view is superior to someone else's view and that they should hold our view. We can only share our experiences and knowledge.
However, it is a wonderful thing when we are able help someone out of a cult because they responded to our views and the views of our friends on here. For me, JWFacts is what changed my mind. This board helped me to cope with those changes.

A Saturday Knock on the Door & the JWN Forum
by kepler inthis is, of course, a recurrent topic that's made possible whenever a kingdom hall decides to march out on your neighborhood and street.. today it happened again in my neighborhood as a drum up for the memorial observance scheduled for monday the 14th of april.. why christ's passion and death should be observed on a monday of holy week i failed to ask this morning.
perhaps someone else might like to volunteer, but it seemed just another reason to be sceptical about the whole thing, though hardly ranking with changing ancient chronologies to get jerusalem's temple destruction 2520 years before 1914.. anyway two gentlemen in white shirts and ties greeted me politely enough at my door and presented me with a flyer about an event which they described as momentous.
they asked me if i had ever intended one and i assented.
