I'm visiting SF this week. It woke me up in the hotel. It felt like a subway train approaching. I thought it was the Bart at first until I realized that it was too far away. lol.

Also, since it's a hand-me-down, check to see if there are additional user profiles that you can delete. A quick and dirty way to see is look under "C:\Users" or "C:\Documents and Settings" depending on your version of Windows. If you see more profiles than Administrator, Default, and the profiles that you use, you can go to "System" under the "Control Panel", select the "Advanced" tab, click "Settings" under the "User Profiles" box, and then delete the profiles you no longer need. Be careful, because this will delete all of the user's data, including documents, favorites, settings, etc. There's a number of ways to get to this screen depending on your version of Windows, but the Control Panel method is pretty much the same across all versions after you switch from Category view to Icon view in the newer versions.

Token black guy.......like Token.... the black kid from South Park?
Mum, Matt Parker and Trey Stone were never Mormon, although Matt Parker's first girlfriend was Mormon. See the below excerpt from their interview with Reason magazine. The entire article is a good read on their thoughts on religion.
Dec 1, 2006, Reason Magazine Interview with Matt Parker and Trey Stone
reason: How were each of you raised religiously?
Stone: I was raised agnostic. There was no religion in my house.
Parker: I was pretty much the same. My father tried to raise me Buddhist, as in Alan Watts Buddhism, which is Buddhism in a way.
reason: I have Mormon friends who are convinced you guys were raised Mormon, because of some of the references in the show.
Parker: Well, we grew up in Colorado. Colorado's right next to Utah--you know, Mormon Central. My first girlfriend was Mormon, and I went to experience family home evening at her house for the first time. "What are you all doing?" "We're sitting, and we're singing songs and playing games together." I was like, "Boy, that's fucked up. Families are not supposed to be doing that."
reason: There are also a lot of Jewish references. There's a whole episode about going to Jewish camp, where they do silly craft projects. Did you go to a Jewish camp?
Stone: No, no. I didn't even know I was Jewish until I was 16.
Parker: I had to teach him the dreidel song.
Stone: I'm not a very good Jew. -

stupid statement in watchtower about appointments of elders
by hoser inafter going through all the processes of how they appointed elders in the past they say this:.
"the elders in turn would inform the newly appointed men of their appointment, asking them if they were willing and actually qualified to accept the assignment.
so after qualifying the man you ask him if he is qualified.. .

Like JWFacts, I was too embarrassed to turn it down too. I just had gotten through looking at dial-up soft porn - Kitana Baker was so fine! Just after disconnecting, my PO called and asked if there was any reason I couldn't be appointed.
"Ummmm, no?"
"Okay, great. We're going to announce you this coming Tuesday night.
At my last hall, they pulled me in right before the meeting started and asked me. Same thing. No porn this time, but my wife and I had gotten to know each other very well before we were married. I was too embarrassed to tell them that.
And this was about the time that I realized that we weren't appointed by holy spirit. Before that, I rationalized that Jehovah saw my heart and knew that my heart was in the right place despite my shortcomings. I figured that he was appointing me to give me the support I needed to hold an upright course. But the more the GB talked about how a MS was appointed and the qualifications found in the scriptures, I realized I didn't live up to any of that, but with their blinders, they thought I did. They just needed another body to fill a job and looked past all the obvious evidence that I wasn't where the GB said I needed to be spiritually.

It's True: You Never Really Know What A Person Is Going Through
by minimus inpeople like robin williams can make you laugh.
we might think that they have it all but we really know nothing about their demons, their problems, their issues.

It's truly sad. I had a friend a while ago in a similar frame of mind (not a JW). He was a well liked guy, loved by everyone, made everyone except himself laugh and smile. He had his demons. He kept searching for happiness, but it became too much. He planned his suicide in the Arizona dessert taking in the beauty of nature.

As Dis-Member brought out, it is entirely possible to monitor network usage. Right now for free, no additional software installed, I can view the logs on my router showing who has been connecting to it and what they have been connecting to. I do this occasionally because I don't have MAC Address filtering on and want to be somewhat sure that someone isn't stealing my internet. But as Dismember brought out, chances are your KH doesn't have someone who knows how to acess or make sense of the data.
If you are really concerned though, keep a password on your device so that someone cannot get your MAC address if you happen to leave it unattended. Never volunteer your MAC Address. Let's expand this to never use your device on the KH's network, and place your device on airplane mode before you get to the hall so that it doesn't talk to their router. But if you do use their network, make sure that your device name could not identify you because some routers will store the device name and MAC address.
This only really pertains to what you do over the network though. It's much more difficult to determine what you are doing locally on your device without the aid of the mic guys.

Disfellowed on 7/16/14 for sending a letter to my former congregation
by spbondgirl007 init's been quite a while since i lasted posted anything on jwn.
i was in hiding previously, but only because i wanted to avoid the shun gun until i had the opportunity to tell my former congregation what i think about the org./gb.
i last attended a meeting over 2.5 years ago but it wasn't until june--when i earned my bachelor's degree--that i finally had the time to collect my thoughts and get them down on paper...i decided to write my letter in a style i felt would be most appealing to my target audience--jw's still under gb mind control --in the hope that at least a few would read it and actually "think".

DD, Very good explanation on where I've been thinking wrong for so long. So the fossil records???
StAnn, As a "good JW" I came to the same conclusion about the Big Bang and evolution as you were taught. I've always thought that there was an explainable link between science and the Bible, even when the GB said no. I saw no reason why these couldn't be the tools Jehovah used in creation. Take evolution for instance. If evolution wasn't haphazard, if it was controlled by a higher-power, no longer is it natural-selection, but it is creation through evolution. I realize now that I have absolutely no proof of this but accept it as a real possibility because there is nothing to disprove it.
ObjTruth, I can assure you my question is sincere. I'm a little goofy and that comes across in my posts sometimes. All posts will get an honest read. Behemoth is an excellent example of a creature that existed during man's lifetime. We have no proof as to what this really was. The GB says its a hippo, but the description does sound more like a diplodocus, but could easily have been an undiscovered-to-modern-man descendant of this dinosaur's family, or something entirely else. However, any mention of Behemoth goes hand-in-hand with Leviathan, which sounds much more different than the crocodile that the GB says it is. It evokes images of fear and trembling. If it was also a peaceful herbivore, there would be no reason to depict it as fearsome unless he's using his power to be master of his coconuts. Anyways, my OP is referring more to creation in the millions (billions) of years before human creation for which we have verifiable proof and fossil records, where many of those fossils give evidence that the creature was indeed a vicious hunter and killer. Granted, any rendition of a prehistoric creature is interpretation at best, but some very educated guesses can be made based off of fossil records.

So I was watching Shark Week a little while ago and I got to the episode on prehistoric sharks. They, of course, discussed Megalodon, but they also talked about other sharks that were vicious, precise hunters. Then I started thinking about other prehistoric creatures..... t-rex, raptors, etc...... all vicious animals. This got me thinking, if God is a god of love, justice, and righteousness, why were many of his first creations so violent and vicious by nature. Why did he all of a sudden wipe these creature off the earth and create a perfect paradise with non-violent animals led by a peaceful, naked man and woman.
Any thoughts? Darwin anyone??? I'm especially interested in hearing the views of faithful Christians, because I can't comprehend this from a Christian point of view. However, I can from the point of evolution. It doesn't make sense to me that such a loving god would make his first creations so violent unless Satan had a little fun in the beginning and started creating some things on his own. lol.
BTW, I promise I'm sober right now.
