hubby and i are about to embark on our first cruise this coming weekend.
we fly to ft. lauderdale, and sail to key west and then to cozumel and back to ft lauderdale.
(five days, four nites) we are on the royal caribbean line, and our ship is the enchantment of the seas.. have any of you taken this cruise before?
I went on a 3 day cruise last summer and had the time of my life. I am also getting ready to go on a 7 day to the Virgin Islands-June 1st. My advise to you is to take plenty of $$$ and pack lots of clothes. Don't forget to pack a formal dress if you plan on going to the captains ball (which I recommend) it is a lot of fun getting all dressed up.

Very interesting OCW! Thanks for sharing that with us, I suffer from anxiety in a huge way. Thank goodness for medication, supportive friends and websites like this, if I didn't have these things I would be in a mess. Coming out of the org is a very long healing process, but with the right frame of mind we can ALL get through this.

so i e mailed bill o reilly, a foxnews reporter who is very opinionated, and told him about how anti-american the org.
is cuz he hates that kind of stuff and exposes it on his show... so if we all e-mail him, and he does read his e-mail, maybe we can get another punch in the apostate time-card regarding the pedophilia issue and the general crappiness of jws during the war.
we all know that they'r eout there more than ever because they think people need to hear from them during the war, and fox gets a lot of publicity... so c'mon guys, e-mail bill o reilly about how jws are anti-american, let's get them in the news!.
I don't have a problem doing this; but what exactly should I say in my email????

I remember after having my THIRD baby I was talking with my brother (who was a very strong jw) and I simply made the comment that my stomach was a little sore and he gave me a weird look, so I explained to him I got my tubes tied...oh boy I tell you, you would've thought I just killed somebody. The First words out of his mouth were "Did you do any research on that and find out what the faithful and discreet slave have to say about that"!! I thought I was gonna freakin puke! My husband and I made the decision that no matter what our 3rd baby was- that was it for us--no more. I never even realized it would be considered wrong to "them". So like a normal JW, I was stricken with guilt, went right home and started looking up info and even talked to an elder about it. I hated that feeling (at that time) of doing something I couldn't change. I mean- damn I had 3 kids now, do you think those bastards were gonna come help me take care of all 3 of them during all these meetings, service etc...??? Just a little example of how much control this organization has over its members! It wasn't long after this episode I left! My heart truly aches for people that are still under this control, because I am loving life--finally!

When I left the org 2 years ago I bought everything I could get my hands on, and read everything that was considered "apostate" literature. But there is this one called "The Report"... I can't remember how or who I bought it from-- All I remember is that I had a very hard time understanding it. Does anyone know anything about this book???

i see a counselor, i am on medication...but still several times a week a just burst out into tears when i think of my mom, sister, brother (all jw's) who are shunning me.
i miss them soooo very much.
it has been 2 years since i left (i also da'd myself).
I signed up to the Meetup site. And have already marked my calendar for the next meeting in Kansas City. I can't wait! It will be so good to finally be able to talk to others that actually know what you're going through. Thanks to all who responded!

I don't know what else to do. I see a counselor, I am on medication...but still several times a week a just burst out into tears when I think of my mom, sister, brother (all jw's) who are shunning me. I miss them soooo very much. It has been 2 years since I left (I also DA'd myself). Does it ever get any easier? What more can I do to help myself? I don't regret the decision I made, and will NEVER consider going back, but I miss my family very much... my heart hurts!

well, let's see...since I left 2 years ago I have:
gotten a divorce, celebrate ALL the holidays, wear patriotic clothes, got a tattoo, my purpose in having a "few" drinks is to get drunk and dance my butt off at a nightclub, read my horoscope daily(ooh shame-shame), smoke when I feel like it-especially with a Budlite, and last but not least...fornicate, fornicate, fornicate!!! And I haven't been this happy in a very long time!!! And yes, I can still sleep at night knowing that I am doing all these things, I don't feel one bit guilty!
