Sapphy: Phizzy and mP: Monin'all! Interesting comments! You could spend every hour of every day debating these details I guess. There isn't "enough scrolls in the world" to contain all the superfluous stuff that was or wasn't written down. Peace. G.

When did the Last Days start in the first century
by wizzstick ini've been reading coc and rf highlights that luke 21:28 says: "but as these things start to occur, raise yourselves erect and lift your heads up, because your deliverance is getting near.".
i'm thinking on how no one who saw the start of these things is alive from 1914. as a comparison point, does anyone know when the wt suggests the last days started in the first century?.
was it when jesus said the above?.

Comatose: Matt 27:6 " ....the money was payment for murder. (Greek: since it is the price for blood Ftn.) After some discussion they finally decided to buy the Potters Field. 8. That is why the field is still called the Field of Blood". (see also Zech 12:12,13).

Rattigan 350: Hello! Matt 28:20 (NLT) "And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of The Age". Acts 1:8 (NLT) "You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and you will be MY witnesses...in Jerusalem....to the ends of the earth". Soon after Jesus's ascension, the Holy Spirit descended at Jerusalem and this marked the birth of the Christian Church. Hence Peter's reference to the "last days" of Joel's prophecy at Pentecost. The last days commenced upon His ascension and being elevated to the Most High by His Father. Pentecost alluded to it and "confirmed "the beginning of the end period" had commenced.

Comatose, Hello! Matthew relates the cause, and Luke (Physician) the effect of Judas' suicide. Acts 1:19 (NLT) ..."they gave the place the Aramaic name Akeldama, which means "Field of Blood". Matt 27:8 (NLT) "That is why the field is still called the Field of Blood. This fulfills the prophecy of Jeremiah that says...... (Jer 32: 6-9.)"

mP: Hello! (abbas - What proof do you have that Peter said anything?) Acts (a sequel to Luke) is a narrative written by Luke, an educated Greek and a major historian in his own right. In the preface to his Gospel, he tells us that having gone carefully over the whole story he decided to write an ordered account of it. If he is tested on detail, as archaeology for one has demonstated he CAN be tested, he emerges as a man of meticulous accuracy. He writes for Theophilus, a sophisticated, educated Roman who is in the know already about Christianity. From the way Luke changes from 'they 'to 'we' in Acts 16:10 it is evident that he witnessed many of the events he describes in such detail.

1969 "fact": You will never grow old in this present system of things
by Ding inawake!
"if you are a young person, you also need to face the fact that you will never grow old in this present system of things.
because all the evidence in fulfillment of bible prophecy indicates that this corrupt system is due to end in a few years... therefore, as a young person, you will never fulfill any career that this system offers.

Millenium Awake (I think) ca: 1989/90. "It is UNTHINKABLE" that the world will be celebrating the new millenium in 2000 and that Christ will not have commenced HIS 1000 year reign". Tried to find the article at a couple of KHs in the bound volumes to show my daughters. Seemed to have been removed. Also difficult to find on the CD Rom. I think I found it tho, and above sentence had been changed to "it is wise not to speculate". Asked an elder if this was in order (it is pure deception, isn't it? - Didn't say that to him of course!) and should they not just leave what they originally printed? He just shrugged his shoulders and said, "Don't worry about it".

At Pentecost 33CE, Peter quotes from Joel: "In the last days God will pour out his Spirit...."etc. Changed in the NWT to "In the final part of the days", to deliberately confuse, because it does not compute with their 1914 rubbish. Jesus began to rule as King upon his ascension (see Phill 2: 6-11) and the" last days" began. In 2 Tim 3 1-5 Paul is describing to Timothy conditions pertinent then, it is NOT a prophecy marking 1913 as the last "normal" year.

"Worldly people don't love the same as Jehovah's Witnesses"

Plucked up courage to phone my mum an hour ago. (I'm filth in her eyes.) Asked her how she was, as its been 6 months since we spoke together. SHE SAID SHE NEVER SEES A SOUL, IS TOTALLY ALONE (SHES 83) AND THAT EVEN HER BEST JW FRIEND OF 55 YEARS NEVER VISITS HER ANY MORE!!!) (Get this, her German Digi-box is faulty, and she asked the Elders if her dissassociated son-in-law (my husband) could COME OVER AND FIX IT, AND THEY SAID CERTAINLY!!!!!!! Still getting over that one.) Where is the jw love I ask myself? Before I dissed myself from the GB I did everything for her, hair, shopping, cleaning - just how is she managing? Finished off the conv by asking her what she thought of the noo lite regarding F & D Slave. She was astounded that I knew. Slapped all over the internet I replied. I asked her, Look, If they haven't been appointed yet,and its a FUTURE EVENT, then how can you say for def you have got the truth? (thanks to the poster who made this great point). She replied, "I've never found anything in 60 years which tells me this is not the truth.!!" Which did NOT answer my question - was just the standard sheeple reply. Finished the call with, "Mum, you're in a man-made cult, they're making it all up as they go along, just as they always have - OH WAKE UP!" and hung up. Decided to try the " direct approach" L(half heartedly) OL
