Smugness is what woke me up after 60+ years.

for me it is the smugness.
it's their inability and refusal to admit they are wrong....ever...even in the face of irrefutable evidence.
isn't pride a sin?

1.you cannot change what you refuse to confront.. look at how you are feeling most of the time.
that sense of going nowhere and feeling down is not because you aren't spritual enough.
it is because you are filling your life with empty purpose brought to you courtesy of the watch tower bible and tract society!.
Does any of that sound like they truly BELIEVE the end of the world is coming tomorrow?

JW's are just following the lead of the GB and their new building projects which will take years to complete. Do you really think the GB is expecting the big A anytime sooooooooooon?
while headship has always been a problem in my marriage, partly because i'm more of a team player and my wife has man issues, now that i'm clearly fading my wife feels that i have nothing of worth to say.. i resist the idea of divorce but this is not much of a marriage.
since she doesn't/ can't hold down a job alimony would be ridiculously expensive.
cheaper to keep her, as they say.. i get zero cooperation or even discussion for any adjustments i feel might be in order for us as we grow older: obabmacare?
So sad that a cult can ruin your married life. I'm feelin it also. O well, I swallowed the weekly pill for 60+ years so I know the shock that my wife must feel now that I no longer get giddy over 'theocratic' stuff. It's the price one pays to live a 'real life'.

many times (almost all the time) atheists asking for proof of god's existence from those who believe that god exists.
perhaps at times they should prove he doesn't exist.

12 since the establishment of the kingdom in 1914, the king has refined the way gods servants are organized to do his fathers will.
(read isaiah 60:17.
) in 1919, a service director was appointed in each congregation to take the lead in the preaching work.

i read steve hassan's book and he mentioned about buzz words or triggers that call out the cult personality of a victim of mind controlling cult.
when you were in, what triggered you?.

on the current thread about blood simon made an interesting point that the stats are skewed because we don't know how many jehovah's witnesses secretly accept blood.
what are your thoughts about how high this figure may be, and did you or anyone you found out about ever accept blood?.
as a side note.
Glad I never (so far) had to face the blood issue with or for my loved ones. I always thought I'd ok a transfusion and claim i caved under pressure. You know like Peter caved got forgiven and then got the keys to the kingdom.
but the understanding is affirmed in the revelation climax book, albeit with less detail.
the events are as follows (& i'm keeping the quotes really short) :.
1st angel - "it all began during the bible students cedar point convention in september 1922. there gods people enthusiastically adopted a resolution entitled "a challenge.
I agree with Slimboy--Freddy boy had a field day when he was a young man. Problem is he never grew out of Fantasy Land had people eating out of He and THE JUDGE had people eating out of their hands.
just recently i explained to my parents and my wife in detail, why i would accept blood or red, white blood cells, platelets or plasma in a medical emergency.
i showed them the inconsistencies and flaws about blood fractions and also the biblical reasons that show clearly that jehovah and jesus do not want a jehovah's witness to die because of that wrong doctrine.. my parents reacted surprised.
they are both about 50 years in the "truth.
Keep your valid belief to yourself. If you or yours ever need a blood transfusion, take it and 'repent' afterward. You'll be just fine that way even though you had a moment of 'temporary' weakness.
when i come accross these coined phrase like "theocratic school" i wonder if it really is time to live a theocracy on earth, and it it is not an exageration by gb to make people think they occupy a undisputable place in that theocracy where anybody who challenges them, challenges theos.. is the theocratic attitude on earth christian?
what do you think guys?.
Iran is a Theocracy!
