My wife's best friend is a 'pioneer' and they go in 'service' together often. (I have not been out in 'service' for years.) Just the other day I asked her how her field service day went. She replied that there were not many people at home so they made RV's. I asked her how much ACTUAL/REAL time was spent preaching and/or teaching during the hours they spent in 'service'.

My point of course was that JW's may spend hours going from d2d, all the while visiting and socializing, but in reality only minutes in actually preaching or talking about God and Christ. A sad waste of time!

Freddy Franz didn't like women so that's why dubs have the attitude they have toward women. To be seen but not heard. Do all the crap work so the men can shine. Yep it's the JW way. Sad but true.

"Making your time" is the most important thing to pioneers. All of them have creative ways to 'count time'. The 'pioneer shuffle' was one of my favorites. At the end of the service year the big buzz among pioneers is; "Did you make your time?".

Do you miss the sense of superiority?

this is and odd topic but there is a part of me that really misses feeling that i knew more about the world than 99.9% of the people.

i spent so many years in school being the odd person because of religion.

i embraced it to some extent.

If a false sense of security/superiority is better than no sense of security/superiority then I would answer yes to your question.

However, I have found it much more comforting and intellectually rewarding to have; questions that cannot be answered as opposed to answers that cannot be questioned.

what is the proof it should be there?.

i've brought up to jws that revelation says not to take anything out or you will get the second death.. but they are ok with it because they compare it to not using the book of thomas, mary, etc.. what would you say to that?.

'Let's change or omit whatever doesn't fit cause the rank and file will not care enough to say anything'.

When the next updated and revised NWT comes out, the words at 1 John 4:8 will also be revised to say "God is organization".

We are in God's "image" but God's morality is repugnant

the bible says in genesis that god made human beings in his "image".. this means that christians believe human beings were made with certain attributes that they share with god.

Absolutely impossible to reconcile the JHWH God of the OT with "God is Love" in 1 John 4:8 even in JWdom.

when you listen to people talking about this and that; a situation they are in, how awful it is etc., i get to thinking, well why don't you change it then.

if you suggest that to them they come up with a lot of excuses as to why they remain as they are.

they may get really angry with you saying 'are you mad?

Of course everything we do is a choice either conscience conscious or unconscience unconscious choice. Why did God give us the ability to choose? Wouldn't the world be a better place if we could only do good? Why was bad ever provided as a choice? Was God so petty that he wasn't sure that what HE created was perfect?

This doesn't smell right at all. This was a case of mistaken identity or the family saw or knew something incrimminating the killers or their bosses. No one pays $115.00 to breed a dog in Mexico when they live in poverty. Would hate to think that any of this family were involved with the drug cartels, but i seen worse things from brothers and sisters.

My life time thoughts about Babylon the Great has fallen

since i was a very young boy (+/- 10 years old) i had thoughts when revelation 18:2 was studiyed at our kingdom hall.. babylon the great was for me new york.

the center of the world, where all cultures are comming together.. next step for me, was that new york was the center of the universe for our jehovah's witness religion.. so i was connecting babylon the great with our own religion.. now with all the topics about the connexion between the watchtower corporations with investment billions, political influance, history cleaning and rebranding their business i could imagine when the society is going down, many corporations and politicians will say "shame, shame, babylon the great has fallen...".

Hey your guess is as good as the guess that the WTBTS has put on BTG. The org has had at least 3 different definitions of who BTG is.
