The Governing Body Have Stabbed Many Old Bethelites In The Back By Not Taking Care Of Them In Their Old Age
by frankiespeakin inthese guys are real company men when they have mass lay off of older bethelites tossing them to the curb and making the congregation they are assigned to carry some of the load, so that the watchtower corporation can cut costs of providing for these nolonger young people who have devoted theirs lives to the corporation.. they are heartless bastards aren't they?
i wonder what kind of undercurrent this is causing at headquartes?.

When Organized Religion Becomes a Cult
by dazed but not confused ini saw this mentioned in a post.
i thought it deserved a thread of its own.
i liked how this article reasoned with the reader how a religion can cross over into cult territory very quickly.. "the harm stems from a system that shuns and ostracizes adherents that don't accept their exclusive claims to truth.

What was the mark of Cain in Genesis 4:15? & what the hell was it for?
by cantleave ini would love to hear the views of believers on this subject.. the mormon cult used to say this was black skin, and was one of the reasons why that cult would appoint black men to the preisthood.
but they weren't the only ones who considered this to be the case.. the interesting thing is this mark offered cain god's ordained protection despite his killing his brother.
why would god afford him protection when murder was punishable by death?

The 'mark of Cain' was the ancient equivalent to the modern English letters "H" and "S". IMHO, I think Cain was the very first member of the Humane Society. He probably became indignant at Abel for slaughtering innocent animals. Did Abel slaughter sheep just for the purpose of sacrifice? They didn't eat flesh at that time, right? So why did Jehovah want blood sacrifices so early in mankind's history? It seems to me that Abel was the first to shed innocent blood mentioned in the Bible. Just saying.

The only way to 'update' the "Truth"(tm) is with truthier truth (aka nu lite). Everybody knows that.

Londo hit it right on the head. It's cult behavior plain and simple. DA'ing is essentially the same as DF'ing. The main difference is that one who DA's himself is taking preemptive action and not allowing the WTBTS to exercise the power that they think they have.

24 hour field service marathon ??
by gingerbread infield service for up to twenty-four hours non-stop.... it's a bit of a fad in our area with pioneers - the twenty somethings especially.
we've heard from other family members and a jw friend that it's a thing in their part of the country as well.. it sounds like a group decides on a day and then piles into a van or suv to 'work' the territory - 12, 18 and even 24 hours.. anyone else hearing of this?.
ginger.

FS is so futile and worthless. Just another social event for most JW's. Ride around in vehicles making the occasional RV and thn off to the coffee shop for more socializing. Run a few errands in between and hope like heck that no one answers the door so they can spend 2-3 minutes recording the not-at-home. BUT it's sacred service and that's what counts.

Depression amongst JWs

so many suffering from depression... along with the few judgementalists.

Cognative dissonance will cause depression. IMHO most JW's that have been around for a while have some degree of cognative dissonance and therefore depression. Nu-lite crammed down their throat will cause depression.

The GB knows that 95% of what Rutherford and Franz conjured up in the past is total fantasy. They don't reverence and mention those 2 jokers too much any more for obvious reasons. The GB would like nothing more than to have all the old crap burned and forgotten IMHO. The GB 2.0 is following the same pattern with their abundant 'nulite' confusion.

I just thought of something....
by ILoveTTATT inif satan is the #1 apostate, and apostates are not to be talked to, why then did jesus even talk to him?.
why did jesus, if he is supposed to be our example, even talk to him?.
why doesn't the bible say "and satan tried to talk to jesus, and jesus ignored him.

In Job chapter 2, apostate Satan enters into Jehovah's house and the 2 of them have a full blown conversation. Sounds like Jehovah also broke the GB rule on shunning. Hope Jehovah doesn't get df'ed.
