anyone who had a good paying job and nice things was materialistic.
Jesus walked or rode on donkeys to show he was not materialisic. Why do CO's and DO's need new cars every 4-5 years? Why does the WTBTS need a new, multi million dollar complex? Why do so many elders, MS's, and wannbe's need expensive suits, shirts, ties, and shoes?

There was only a reference to 'a governing body' or 'the governing body' before 1972. Since then it's "Governing Body" captialized and an official title to be recognized and prayed for.

It always struck me as odd that the first century 'governing body' appears in print in lower case letters but the modern day 'Governing Body' in upper case letters. Is that because the modern day 'Governing Body' is a proper noun due to the fact that they appointed themselves and the first century 'governing body' is a common noun due to the fact that they were appointed by Holy Spirit?

yet it was the first book i read learning about jw`s.

I liked the "Babylon" book. It really illustrated how crazy Fred Franz really was.

this is my plan for 2014. i'm going to do things out of my comfort level.
Corny as it may sound, it's up to us as individuals to create our own lives and futures. That is/will be difficult for many who now have ttatt because we were trained to be lazy minded and to be led by others. Life is not bad outside of the WTBTS, just different. If you only had vanilla ice cream all your life, does that mean that chocolate is bad? Try some chocolate or even strawberry. It's good.
yesterday we met up with an old ex witness friend after four years.
it was great to drop all the barriers that have stopped us all meeting recently.
apparently, it turns out that i was marked as an apostate some time ago.
No one in the borg really knows what 'marking' is all about. Hell, I was an elder for 20 years and didn't know much about it. Just another stupid catagory invented by the WTBTS to make themselves "special".
so while i was out hiking with the dogs today i got to thinking about this forum and was wondering how many of you still feel guilty from time to time for leaving?
i do, i miss my family at times but then i think about the life that i have created and i have a good one, i have good friends and i am happy, happier then i ever was as a jw.
i was just wondering if others feel the same way sometimes..
No guilt just sadness for staying so long after 1975 and then 1995.
