if you have heard g. jackson speak you can tell that he is smooth.
he is a good speaker with a commanding voice.
i think the gb knew this was going to happen and prepped him to testify.
Hell no GJ will not take the stand. He know what happened to his "brother" when he was 'hailed before the court' a couple of thousand years ago!

on listening to day 7 of the hearing i was amazed at the serious lack of knowledge in the bible, did anyone else notice this?
Sir82
The JWs view the Bible as a sort of "dictionary of proof texts".
You said it exactly the way it is Sir82. Even when I was a gong ho jw, I was always puzzled at how often the same core of about 75 scriptures appeared and reappeared in all the publications. They were quoted to support the doctrine of the wtbts not quoted to give insight or knowledge. "Proof texts" is what we called them, not bible texts. I had a Mormon guy tell me once that the witnesses use the same 75 scriptures about 80% of the time to support our teachings.
So although JW's may believe that "all scripture is inspired by god", they definitely believe that only 75 are "beneficial for teaching, for reproving, and for setting things straight".

years ago there was a thread about rumors that society was paying into a retirement fund for circuit overseers.
could any recent ex-bethelite confirm or deny.
here is the old thread:.

according to apocalypse delayed, russell got many of his ideas from a conference called albury park.. .
here are the sources of his ideas for eschatology:.
and lastly, here are the sources for the ideas that jw's claim make them "the truth": rejection of the trinity, hell, and the inmortal soul..
Gotta love the 'history' of "god's organization"!

for years i've been screwed with by some very bad people, people satan would kick out of his organization because even the devil might let up on evil just to allow someone to catch their breath.
with the jwism's bad people move up while good people move down or leave the kingdom hall for good.
i was talking with two elders who said "you know if you return to the kingdom hall, jehovah will bless you and these people will stop screwing with you.
Ditch the bitch!

it's bad enough that jws waste valuable, life-saving minutes getting coffee, but now this happens.... http://www.starbucks.com/careers/college-plan.
so many dubs work at starbucks!
this is a dangerous situation that must be from satan!
There will soon be a 'cartoon' video showing brothers and sisters 'thinking' about that $4 cup of coffee at Starbucks, but then rejecting the idea and instead putting the $4 into the contribution box at the kh to "further kingdom interests" (so that the gb can instead enjoy a $4 cup at Starbucks).

when i left witness land in the early 90's, i remember hearing that out of 144,000 anointed members that there were only 8 to 9 thousand left and then the end will come.. i'm suddenly curious.
the jw organization is one that puts emphasis on tracking, i.e., regular meeting attendance, current standing, field service hours, territory tracking, return visits, etc.
therefore, did the society ever try to track each and every member of the 144,000?
The gb knows everything about the CO's, COBE's, pioneers, MS's, missionaries, etc, but nothing about the so called"brothers of christ"? Friggin ridiculously stupid.

not sure if this subject has been covered recently but i thought i'd make this observation anyway.... i remember when the word "gluttony" was a frequently mentioned sin in public talks, in the wt publications, in convention talks, etc.. in fact, in the 80's and 90's it wasn't unusual to hear the words "gluttony" and "disfellowship" mentioned in the same sentence.
i haven't been to a meeting in over 5 years, so i'm not sure if they still harp on the subject of gluttony or other excesses.
but i can't help but notice how much heavier the gb 2.0 has become compared to previous regimes.
But remember that jehober loves the smell of FAT burning. It's a "restful odor" to him. LOL
