  gorby has had a personal paradigm shift lately.. from one point to an other i "feel" and "think" different about the jw subject.. - no more interest in doctrine.

  - no more interest in things that happen 100 years ago into an religion.. - no more taking statements too serious.

  it doesn't matter me at all what a generation doctrine change is all about, it doesn't matter me at all that brother elder said "blablabla boe!".

  I know what you mean, I think, maybe, possibly.

  I still like to read the posts on this site because they are mostly interesting, but all the false and ever changing doctrine of jw's, all the failed 'end of the world' predictions, all the hub bub about pedophiles, and all the bullshit about dumb ass elders, well those were just the vehicle to get me to where I'm at today. I'm content and happy not being under the oppressive influence of the wtbts. Still can't believe that I gave up nearly 55 years of my life. But it's all behind me now and life is good and so are 99% of the people that I meet.

  about 5 years ago when i was in, my son who at the time was 18 needed somewhere to sleep for a couple of nights due to work commitments ,in a city 2 hours from home.

  my "best man" who is an elder that lives in this city , was asked could my son stay a couple of nights .

  the response was he doesn't go to meetings anymore ,he can't stay here , i ask can he sleep on garage floor instead , still can't stay .

  when i first met my wife and on that so important first date i was 21 years old and sadly broke, she was an 18 year old au pair.

  any way i treated her to mcdonald's but she had to pay for the meal.

  now over 20 years later and still together, i realize how lucky i was she didn't say on that first date " if you can't afford to pay "our" mcdonald's meal f...off" .

  Took my wife on our first date to (lol) a meeting at the kh. After the meeting we went to a cozy little restaurant for a burger and fries. I was very hungry but she didn't order anything to eat, only a coke. I generously paid. lol. About a month or so later she told me that she had also been very hungry but did not want to eat in front of me on our first date. lol. She didn't want to be presumptuous about me paying for her meal! lol. You gotta love a woman that is not just interested in your money! lol. I guess that's one of the reasons we are still together after 50 years!

  Can’t cope with being disfellowshipped…..Need some advice

  this site is great, i have been lurking for a while now.

  but i can’t get reinstated and have used some of the advice already given.. i was df’d many months ago and go to all the meetings and do all the preparation for the meetings, but the jc committee keep refusing me.

  tomorrow at the clam meeting i am puting yet another letter in and will be called for another dreadful jc meeting.. 1. what can i say to the elders to show that i am truly repentant?.

  Obviously you are not repentant (from a jw point of view). You can't be lurking on and contributing to an "apostate" website if you are repentant (from a jw point of view).

  However, if you really need to be reinstated, kiss their ass and tell them anything they want to hear so that, in their 'little game of authority', they will feel sooooo important and "mercifully" reinstate you. Remember that it all about them and their power over you!

  WT Study - 28th Aug 2016 - “Do Not Let the Faults of Others Stumble You”

  in paragraph 2 of this study, the gbojw evidences once again that they are sticking to the absurd 1914 doctrine – “when the last days of the present system began...”.

  i noted that as 2014 approached, the gbojw became somewhat reticent about making reference to revelation 12:12 – the “short period of time” scripture.

  so this study is the first one in a long time in which both the 1914 doctrine and revelation 12:12 are mentioned in the same study.

  I also went to the wt meeting yesterday with my lovely wife. I particularly enjoyed paragraph 3 where it pointed out jehober's dominant quality-------love. The paragraph went on to point out that----- "55 million people were killed in WWII alone. However, Jehovah's Witnesses did not participate in that global slaughter."

  On the way home I mentioned to my lovely wife that it seemed a bit odd to me that the same paragraph that talked up jehober's love would also mention the fact that jehober allowed 55 million of his children to perish in WWII. Why? I also mentioned that Jehovah's Witnesses will not have to participate in the coming global slaughter at the big "A" when BILLIONS WILL PERISH!

  Silence the rest of the way home but I know she was thinking about it.

  So is it OK to lie to your employer about going to visit your sick mother when you are actually going to the RC knowing that your sick mother will be there also? After all there is a grain of "truth" in your statement. lol
