  i would like to ask, specifically, the ladies here who have been subjected to a jc hearing, preferrably for fairly serious reasons, to write a quick summary of the humiliation, etc.

  that went on during this process.

  Actually Robert, she will be df'd and shunned. They will have no control over her or you. They won't be able to tell her not to associate with you at that point.

  Sally, don't you think they'd make me off-limits to her as a condition of her DF and possible potential to be reinstated? I assumed the elders would make me the #1 prohibition and she would do it because they do retain some control over her by dangling reinstatement over her head should she want it.

  No family to shun her is good because the poor thing is homebound and essentially bed-bound so needs a lot of help. Her health, financial situation and life in general is fairly dismal. She needs all the help she can get and not that the local JWs have gone overboard (other than delivering magazines, etc. to her) their absence may illustrate just how little jehovah is doing for her and how massive is the help given by her worldly family and friends. I guess we shall see...

  I think she may want to think about the 'repentance' part................ She didn't confess to them; Why now?; and She is still seeing you: are you chaperoned or not? Is she putting herself at risk again?

  SimpleSally, I agree with you 100%. She hasn't done it for a couple of years, why now? The guilt should be the same, I don't follow her thoughts. And we have a unique situation.

  We are both older adults (50 and 43) divorced, with kids, and disabled -- the whole 9 yards. No chaperones ever (I probably would have laughed should that suggestion ever come up) for the 4-5 years she's been a JW and I figure I'll be banned from having anything to do with her, so her optimism of "never say never" confuses me. I think I know more about JW than she does.

  Your g/f is probably suffereing extreme guilt at present and this is the result of this system that the WTS has established and it does indeed make its own members suffer terribly.

  Thanks to those who have so quickly responded! As Ozzie states, above, her guilt has been plaguing her for some time. She has never done anything about it but talk (so far...) but she just informed me that she is waiting to hear when the elders will come to visit her (she is home-bound due to illness) so she can finally confess. The day of reckoning seems finally here after 3-4 years!

  I know she expects to be DF'd -- and I would fully expect it too due to the severity of her/our actions -- so I told her I guess this meant "goodbye." I don't see her being able to associate with a worldly guy like me after confessing and I'm sure getting DF'd.

  She said "never say never" but I can't see a new, but hard-core JW as my dear G/F has tried to be doing anything to go against the decision and I don't see me being allowed in any way after she gets tossed out. At least she is the only JW in her family so they won't shun her and will still be able to help her out in her time of need but I don't see myself being allowed to be with her.

  Maybe this will open her eyes (I don't have a lot of faith in the probability of that happening...) but who knows? A little time away from the constant bombardment of guilt and brainwashing might be a good thing. At least I think it is!

Anybody who has participated in a JC hearing is welcome to add. No specifics are needed if you don't feel comfortable writing about anything you can just give a general rundown on how lecherous and un-godlike the committee treated you. This is my reason for asking:
  
  My JW g/f keeps saying that she has to confess to the elders regarding some sexual indiscretions we have committed over the past, now, almost 3-4 years. Yes, I know this sounds like the girl ain't right in the head (and for medical reasons she is prone to some mental fuzziness...) but I keep trying to persuade her to not do this.
  
  I've told her that if jehovah knows all then he knows what she has done. What need is there to involve middlemen, who are just that -- middleMEN -- in something involving her and jehovah ultimately.
  
  I thought that maybe if I could give her some people's experiences of the dehumanizing, degrading, sleazy and downright awful stuff that goes on in those meetings between the elders (I've often seen described as horny, sleazy old men) and a vulnerable, emotional and violated woman/girl maybe she would see how this process is such a draconian and one-sided affair.
  
  Without giving away any sensitive details or anything, could some of you give me a rundown on a particularly vile JC hearing you were subjected to so I can print it out for my g/f to read? Her congregation seems like a reasonably laid-back bunch and I don't get the feeling they would really be a super-bad, "Spanish Inquisition" type but I'd like to maybe preview for her what is in store should she choose to confess.
  
  Can anybody help me? I also tried at another site but only got limited responses. I would appreciate it immensely because I really don't want to think of her going thru this.

  i notice a few "brothers" with asian non -jw wives.

  many tend to be at least 10-30 years younger often second wives.

  i notice the "friends" don't tend to pick on their budist,shinto, etc wives to convert them to jws.

  Well, it says "often" not "every time" and that's also not exactly what the scritpure quoted says:

  2Co 6:14 Be not unequally yoked with unbelievers: for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? or what communion hath light with darkness? Looks more like keeping unrighteous (foreigners? UNbelievers?) from ones considered righteous.

  And Deuteronomy 22:10-14 also gives the Israelites the green light to take non-Israelite women who are "pleasing to his eye" as a wife (or concubine, I guess) should the mood strike you after slaughtering all the rest of the community. Mighty nice of them.

  I guess after a long day of genocide, pillaging and stealing it's nice to have some "strange" to relax with.

  i had just thought briefly, that if american soldiers are to receive court martial, or some kind of discipline for (smiling) or giving the (thumbs up) over the deaths of iraq prisoners and victims--then perhaps jehovah's witnesses who give the very same (smiles) and approval of death victims, should likewise be disciplined as well.. look at these similarities.

  I have a T-shirt my daughter gave me some years ago because she thought it summed up my attitude in a joking way (neither one of us are JWs). It says "Some people are alive just because it's against the law to kill them!" It was a joke.

  It was amusing but after seeing this comparison and especially the compilation of pictures of smiling sheeple prancing off into (what they think is) paradise while their friends and families who aren't JWs are horribly slaughtered is chilling. Do you think the day may come when they'll no longer wear the suits and dresses and just outfit the ones in service with similar garb? Something to sum up their feeling about the other 99.9% of humanity?

  It freaks me out ... and then it pisses me off.

  i always wondered (even when i was still in the organization), but never had the guts to ask.. if a woman becomes pregnant, but the egg has implanted in the falopian tube....will the jw's condone an abortion to save the life of the mother?

  or does it boil down to their usual pansy-ass, "matter of conscience" excuse.

  Illustrating that such dangers must be viewed as still only possibilities is the case of a woman in South Africa. Before she was aware of her pregnancy she received an injection for a kidney ailment. Later her doctor said that, as a result, her child would be either an imbecile or horribly deformed; he urged her to have an abortion. When she learned from Jehovah?s witnesses what the Bible says about respect for life, she declined the abortion.

  Hmm, sounds self-serving to me. Like the WT recognized that an imbecile baby would have some future potential as a member of the GB or could write articles to be printed in the WT magazines! Yep, sounds self-serving to me...

  I suppose the child care facilities supplied by the WTS would be utilized .... oh, that's right, they don't have any. Nevermind.

  9/11 Bombings -- WTS reaction.

  i was recently told how wonderfully the wts reacted to the people working at the wtc site in new york after 9/11/01.

  not just bringing food and water etc.

  to the firemen and other workers but actually "giving love" by hugging the workers, (i'm sure) giving out magazines and acting all superior because of the real love shown instead of the superficial kind shown by the churches of christnedom.

  Thanks to all for the info, especially Blondie for those links. Either I did my searches in the wrong sections or my computer skills are really slipping! I checked all the links Blondie supplied and did find "Patriot's" posts informative.

  However, I do seem to remember something about WTS buildings having the doors locked so people couldn't get in to seek refuge from the calamity taking place and other such accounts. Am I mistaken? The false claims as to being actually in Ground Zero seemed like the same old SOP for WT propaganda. I think perimeter seems likely but as Patriot pointed out, being on the actual site is wishful thinking unless the JW involved was a worker with permission to be there.

I was told how well and warmly received the WTS response was from those working at the Trade Center site. (Yeah, who needed food and water when WT and Awake! magazines were available?)

  I tried a search to find information here but was unsuccessful. I seem to remember a few horror stories of WTS behavior on 9/11 such as locking their doors to prevent people running away from entering their building(s) and being generally apathetic to the situation -- unless a JW was involved. Can anyone point me to some information or provide it from first-hand experience? Am I mistaken?

  I am really curious at the spin that seems to be being put on their reprehensible actions now to make it seem like they were the only ones really doing anything at that tragic site.Thanks,

  Ironic current or recent WT magazine cover?

  i recently caught sight of a wt magazine at my jw girlfriend's house.

  i didn't want to ask her if i could look at it (no sense opening that door!

  ) but the cover was titled "religion -- the root of mankind's problems?

  When this WT prophecy is fulfilled the UN will 'outlaw' all religion with 'extreme violence'. To quote the WT, they will 'burn her with fire'.

  Yeah, like the UN could do anything of the sort! They can't find their ass with both hands! If the UN is such an entity to be feared I don't really think we as a population have a thing to worry about.

  Of course, I thought the wanton and complete destruction of all the world's religions was supposed to have happened already...
