Bible Principles and Laws and obediance

Well the scripture says to be in submission to those taking the lead among you. The way to get around it is to not have people leading you. Lead yourself. Then you would be in submission to yourself. lol. Don't be a follower of men, a mindless sheep. Take control of your own life.

Overseer Visits
by sandy inwhat the hell is the big deal about the circuit overseer's visit?
why does everyone have to drag their bible students and in active friends and family members to the meeting during that week?.
it is so lame and hypocritical.

If anyone works in retail you will see that a CO visit is the same thing as a store visit from the district manager or the regional manager. The store managers work their ass off and get you to work your ass off to get the store spic and span and make everything look perfect for when the DM gets there. When he arrives they follow him like a lapdog with a notebook writing down all of his good advice and orders. And when they leave things fall back to the same they were before they came, a mess.

My dad needs a heart transplant
by MonkeyPrincess inaccording to his doctor, my dads heart is beating at 29 beats per minute right now, and getting progressivley weaker.
he advised my father to get on the transplant list for a new heart.
of course my father is being very stubborn about this.

I'm sorry to hear about your dad. I hope he does the right thing. But if he's a dub I'm sure he'll gladly die for his beliefs and screw the family and their sorrow. I wonder though, how the family would feel, if he passes away for this, if the WTS change their views on blood.

And I guess that would only apply to people that feel the need to be lead. I don't believe I need a middle man to my faith. I dont need an intermediary between me and God. I have the Bible. I read it. I gain knowlege. I grow in my faith. Why do I need an equally sinful man to watch over my faith for me? That's my responsibility, isn't it?

Did God create man to live forever?
by shotgun indubs always point back to genisis as a last resort and say ....well he created them to live forever, it was his original purpose.. where does it say that?.
genisis says that they were to multiply and fill the earth not that they would live forever.
if they were to live forever what was the tree of life for?.

Is this an honest question or just to drum up debate? If it's an honest question you will only find it by searching for yourself and determine what it is that you want to believe.

The Biggest Scandal In Your Congregation
by Hunyadi ini attended a notorious congregation as a child, the infamous winter gardens congregation!
my cousin and his best friend, both named joe, were elders, my cousin was the po and the other joe was a total loser suck up who wanted to be just like my cousin, joe.
what was even funnier, as i get off point a bit, is that "suck up" joe's wife, cathy, did everything she could do to get her pudgy lil self to dress, look, walk, and talk like my cousin joe's wife, clementine.

Monkey, get over yourself. If you're gay great... don't get your panties in a bunch when someone says the word GAY. What, does your gaydar start sending you mind-piercing *blips* everytime someone says GAY? Get real. You are like the black people that think everything is racist because someone looks at them crosseyed. And black people call each other nigger and no one says anything so why cant a gay guy say "that's gay"? Get over yourself man. It's not cool when someone in a minority tries to act like a spokesperson for that minority. You don't speak for gays just because you're gay, they can speak for themselves. You don't hear me jump up ready to claw someone in the eyes when someone says the word SMARTASS in a derogatory manor, even though I'm a smartass. I don't speak for all smartasses, just myself. The other smartasses can fend for themselves.
NOW that this soap opera is out of the way....back to scandals...
The only scandal I was aware of was the daughter of the elder was either anarexic or bolemic. One or the other. But being that this is a disease or mental problem the person cant really control it. She was councled several times to "stop being bolemic". Of course they didnt help her or get her treatment. She didn't stop. So they disfellowshiped her...HER OWN FATHER DISFELLOWSHIPED HER under the grounds that she was being too vein, worrying too much about her figure and her looks.

Unsolicited Advice
by pettygrudger indo you feel compelled to give advice to your friends if you think they are making bad choices?
if it's not threatening to your friend in a physical way - do you live & let live - even if their choices have the potential to hurt them emotionally at a future time?
what is the "right thing to do in these situations"?

I can't stand it when people I know make bad decisions and make them knowing they are bad. My fiance is like that and her father is like that. Runs in the fam. Anyway, I recognize the fact that they are adults and can make decisions on their own. But I when there's a problem I will tell them what I think should be done and then I drop it. All I can do is give my advice and tell them what I would do in that situation. But I don't make them do anything and I don't say anything more on the matter. If they choose to ignore me and either make a bad choice or choose to do nothing then that's their choice and they have nothing to complain about. I find it hard to feel sorry for or be simpathetic towards someone who complains about a situation they're in when they ignore every piece of good advice given to them. I just say, "Yeah, that sucks. That's why I told you that you should do this. But you didn't. Live and learn I guess."
It's like women that stay in abusive relationships because "they love him". Well, if you love him then I don't wanna hear one complaint about that black eye he gave you. I don't wanna see one single tear trickling down your face. I wanna see a big ole happy smile on that battered face because you obviously like it when he beats you...otherwise you'd leave. I don't feel sorry for them one bit.
My fiance is owed several weeks of bonus money that her boss still hasn't sent in. I told her the first week, "Tell him that you need the money in the next check. If he doesn't submit it then tell his boss, the Distric Manager, that he isn't doing his job and that you need your money." What does she do? Nothing. Then payday comes around and she's complaining that she didn't get her bonus. I just said, "Of course you didn't. Because you didn't do what I suggested. What did you expect?" She still hasn't gotten it. I think she does these things because she likes to have things to complain about but I just brush it off because she does these things KNOWING FULL WELL what the outcome will be. So she has nothing to complain about.
Her dad waited until about a week before he was DEAD before he went to the hospital for congestive heart failure. He had been suffering for about 8 months with it, and I mean suffering! We both kept telling him, "You need to go to the hospital." And he would just say, "Yeah yeah...I probably should..." and he doesn't. I just told my fiance to just let him suffer then. It must not be too bad or he would go to the doctor. He must like it I guess.
I'm sorry if I sound like a prick but I am a logical thinking person and if someone KNOWS what they should do to solve their problem and WILLING and CONSCIOUSLY chooses ON THEIR OWN to not do anything about it then they have nothing to complain about and they have no one to blame but themselves and I'll be damned if I'm going to waste my time feeling sorry for them. I will love them and I will advice them what should be done but it is their life to live and their choices to make. Like the old man said in the movie Jurrasic Park, "I don't blame people for their mistakes but I do ask that they pay for them."
