You are correct. The WT is not a false prophet. It just says things that later prove to be totally and utterly false.

The Watchtower is NOT a false prophet
by The Quiet One inregarding what some have said here about the wt being a false prophet.. i would like to make my point regarding the wt not being a false prophet... so please, if you can be patient enough to read this, at least try to understand what i am getting at.. a false prophet is one who, according to deuteronomy, makes a false prediction of the future and claims that the prediction came from god, or in other words claiming that 'god has said he will do a certain thing at a certain time' etc.. for example, hypothetically speaking, if someone had claimed: "god will bring about the end of the world in 2010", they would have been proven to be a false prophet, obviously.
but, as an example, imagine a man who claimed the position of a prophet of god, (as moses did, because although he was not the type of prophet that predicted the future.. he was still a prophet or spokesman for god) and that he had publicised worldwide, according to his interpretation of a (for example) prophecy found in the book of isaiah, that the world would end in 2010.. and he had also stated that he was not saying that god will end the world in that year.. but only that there was biblical evidence that god might do so.
that would clearly have been a mistake.

What if Earth's population was only 100?
by FlyingHighNow ini've often said, if you live in an island nation of a few people, wouldn't you think it a must to try to keep everyone healthy, happy and strong?
you know, in case the natives from the next island over decide they want to come and hurt all of you and take all your stuff?
health, both physical and mental are more important the smaller the population gets.

Notorious A**hole Christopher Hitchens Thrown Into The Eternal Flames Of Gehenna
by Philadelphia Ponos inthe first time i heard of christopher hitchens was today when his named was mentioned multiple times in the comment section of a youtube video.
after reading a brief summary of his life, it became clear that this guy was a complete douche-bag.
a very arrogant sarcastic bigoted f**k who looked down on everyone who didn't share his beliefs.

Do You Agree That Being A JW=Never Growing To Your Full Potential?
by minimus insoooo many witnesses that i knew of had great potential to be somebody, to do something in their lives and instead, they simply existed in a way of life that never really ever gave them back anything in return.
so sad, when you think of the waste!.

Absolutely. Even if you become a brilliant speaker because of the TMS, so many (the vast majority) do not reach their full potential. I know I could have done much more and gone further if I did not have WT restrictions imposed on me. I would have loved to have done a PhD for example.

evolution question
by outsmartthesystem init has taken me almost 2 years to get to the bottom of the watchtower society rabbit hole.
being fully convinced that i was duped....i am still a little ashamed of myself for being so narrow minded.
i have vowed never to close off my mind like that again.

OK - I will bite. I am still in theory a JW but keep my bullshit deflectors on maximum setting most of the time.
Even JWs have published brochures that are a little more balanced.
There is just way too much evidence for evolutionary forces.
the anthromorphic principle does not hit the spot for me though

Do YOU Believe That JWs Have A Huge Problem With Pedophiles?
by minimus ini don't think there are more pedophiles in the religion than there are in others.. i understand that one is too many.
but i think some believe that it's an epidemic within the organization.
i believe their 2 witness rule can help pedophiles secretly abuse kids.. but i don't think that this particular crime dominates those in the religion.. .

They had a huge problem. I think they have changed enough and got some wake-up calls that they will no longer have a HUGE problem. Every eldesr school has and will continue to feature this problem in the Judicial section etc. I think in time the " 2 witness" rule will change too.
