  sorry if there has already been a thread on this subject.

  do you think a really big threat to the wtbts is from people like me who are still witnesses and in the organization but also post on this board and have an open mind -- or do you think there are bigger threats -and if so what would they be?

  xjw-b12 says stillajwexelder. Do you want to be a threat to the WTBTS, or do you want to stick around to help family and friends? That is a very thin line to walk my friend. First of all, if you are waiting for change, to make your membership within the org. more palatable to yourself, and perhaps soothe your conscience, ie the new sign out front......

  Do not know my own mind sadly --yes I want reform -yes I want to stay in for sake of family - I know everything is a long way from right -- something needs to happen -- or maybe I sholud just come out -- in the long run it may be less stressful

  Still:I suggest you spend less time getting upset, and more time protecting your identity, dude.
  I made exactly the same mistakes, in my final months of being a JW.
  During the 2001 Elders School, the C.O. came asking probing questions.

  Sorry, you are correct -- there is no need for me to get upset -- I need to spend some time in Arrochar or Tarbet or Perth or even better still Mallaig -- very realxing and then to drink some Glenmorangie - -and yes I do know the correct pronunciation of that beautioful single malt - please accept my appologies

  yes my good friends it is september, elders all around the world are having their loving elders meetings, where they discuss coming to see you all to encourage you back to the fold.... hurrah!

  returning to jehovah.

  7 but may the elders themselves take any initiative in approaching a disfellowshipped person?

  Troublesome Trinity Verses Part 1

  in this series i hope to discuss some common verses used by the watchtower to "disprove" the trinity and deity of the lord jesus christ.

  the first one is 1 corinthians 8:6: .

  "but to us there is but one god, the father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one lord jesus christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.

  E=mc^2 but E also = hf where h is Planks constant - - so therefore hf = mc^2 and hence one immediately has an equation where frequency and mass are together and hey presto you have mathematically proven the dual nature of light -- because mass would prove the particulate nature and frequency would prove the wave nature

  and i remember the days when the jws warned about the catholics and their "index" of books, movies, and plays that were denied to catholics as being "dangerous" to their faith.

  that is to say, they were revelatory of the actual truth of a matter and the roman church did not want these truths spreading throughout the faithful.

  now the witnesses are up to it to.. have you read 1984?

  Not sure I know what you're referring to here. The only alteration I'm aware of from original publication to bound volume or CD was the change of "in our twentieth century" to "in our day" in the 1989 Watchtower. Are there other alterations? If so, I'd sure like to know about them.

  Many -- sadly I do not have a complete list -- what I do have though is a fabulous library - I never throw old publications/indexes etc away -- but I stll get the CD Roms and Bound volumes so we can compare -- but there are many examples -- I can always scan in if necessary some time the old publications

  Jesus’ illustrations highlight the joy in heaven when ‘one sinner repents.’ (Luke 15:7, 10) Paul wrote to the Corinthians regarding the man that had been disfellowshipped: "You should kindly forgive and comfort him, that somehow such a man may not be swallowed up by his being overly sad. Therefore I exhort you to confirm your love for him."

  So if there is joy in heaven we can not have joy on earth can we --under no coircumstances must the brothers clap when the reinstatemnet is announced in the hall -- that would be showing joy wouldn't it

  My fellow posters- sorry to be sarcastic, but it really pisses me off how the WTBTS is so unscriptural with its reinsatement process
