Carmen was bad I know. But she has potential. If she gets a good vocal coach I really think she could have success in country music.
I am sorry but I do not think any of the contestants were worse than Nikki McKibbin.

Sorry Mulan I have to agree with Morris on this one. Clay is Gay. He is just itching to "come out". LOL
I'm a "fag hag" believe me I know. I seem to attract gay male friends even on the Internet. LOL
Yes there are some guys that are a little sensitive and maybe a little on the feminine side but are not gay. I believe that.
But I will bet a million bucks Clay is Gay weather he knows it or not. I hope I have not offended you or anyone else. It seems the younger generations are a little more open in their conversations about homosexuals. I am able to joke with my gay friends all the time just as they are with me about me being heterosexual.

In all actuality if I was one of the contestants at this stage (Top 5) I would almost want to be voted off. The winner is forced into doing albums and films with the Americon Idol label whereas the others already have enough public image that they are recognized and get contracts to go into other things and be more diversified.
I agree with you 100% Reborn. Kelly Clarkson from last year's show had or may still have the #1 album but it is only because of her American Idol status. Those who lose on the show have a far better chance than the winner to go further with their careers. The "losers" will be taken more serious then the AI. Many of the old Star Search winners who lost on the show have successful careers now.
Example: Britney Spears, I know there are many more but my mind just drew a blank.
I didn't buy Kelly Clarkson's CD. I do not think she is that great nor the is the music she released. But then again I hate most of the last 5 years or so of pop music.

Dislikes - too shy, big time procrastinator, big feet for a short person

Why were 'LARGE GATHERINGS' bad?????????? when they sounded so good.
by BLISSISIGNORANCE inmy hubby and i were discussing this point the other day and having a giggle as we remembered the stress it caused some elders.. we got to thinking that there must have been some really good parties going on that we were not invited to because we never witnessed anything shocking or resembling debauchery.
we began to feel left out because the elders often did talks warning us about the dangers associated with 'large' gatherings, and they sounded like much more fun than the ones we had been too.. i mean, we went to parties where the elder organised bible characters celebrity heads, question and answer games based on bible events, no alcohol, and finishing up by 10pm.......(then we would go back to my place and have a good time).
we were invited to a 'large' group that met in someones house every sunday afternoon for 'kingdom melodies" sing-a-longs, but that was one large gathering we were never tempted to go to.. the elders' talks indicated that some people were having more fun than us.

An old friend of mine had a cousin who was giving wild parties as a teenager (18 or 19 years old) while her parents were away. I never attended one nor did my friend.
My friend's little cousin (sister to the older one) busted her by taking pictures of all the crazy stuff that was going on at one of these parties.
Apparently they were having orgies in addition to the drugs and alcohol consumption. The only un-jw-like behavior I ever saw at a party was people getting drunk.
Occasionally the police would come by to tell the host to turn down the music after 10 pm.
Wednesday - Your experience reminded me of one I had. I was about 16 and this 36 year-old guy tried to hit on me too. He showed up at my KH a few times. I gave him the brush off immediately. He gave me the creeps in a major way. He ended up finding a young JW girl to
marry..... I mean control. -

but other than that, what is your nicest day of the week and for what reason?
i always liked mondays and wednesdays and fridays because there were no meetings on these days.. how about for partying, drinking and having fun, which night did you rather?

Saturday mornings!!!!!!!!!!! I can sleep till noon but I don't. LOL For some reason I wake up only an hour later than during the week. I just like the fact that I can sleep really late if I want.

the story we all heard about one sister that was watching Bewitched and the same thing that popped up in Samantha's living room, popped up in this sisters. Perhaps she forgot to take her medication that day
.LOL That was funny.
I remember someone from my old hall asked this young elder if it was ok to watch Disney Cartoons such as....... god I cannot remember which one exactly.
But the over zelaous JW wanted to know if it was ok or not because the characters had supernatural powers and used them to do bad things.
I cannot remember all the details now. But the dumbo elder's answer was it is ok because the moral of the story is good vs evil and the good people always win.
Couldn't he just say if it bothers your conscience don't watch them.

Bee Gees theme was awesome!!! I love it! Everone was great last night.
Clay - Loved his first song!!!! I enjoyed watching him sing Grease. I don't think he should have picked that song. But he was alright on it. I was entertained. I watched Grease right after the show. I love that movie!!!
Josh - He was the best ever last night. His first song was alright. The second song was great!!! He really surprised me. I still think he should be voted off tonight. I think the other three are much better and deserve to compete with each other.
Kimberly - She is a good singer. I enjoyed her last night. I still do not think she should be the AI. Most of the time she is boring. She never really excites me. I liked both her songs last night. Her voice sounded pettier than it has in awhile.
Ruben - He was awesome, especially his second song. He is always cosistant and his song choices are great.
I really want it to come down to Clay and Ruben. They are both better that last season's and this season's contestants.

What is funny, is they just don't get it!

my mother passed away a few months ago.
the funeral was poised to be a sensitive issue since, when i left the truth 4 years ago, none of my children (all adults and still active in their faith) have spoken to me.

I keep hearing all these stories about how you are shunned from family members. It really breaks my heart. I hope your family comes to their senses.
It must be extremely hard when you are being shunned by your very own kids or parents. I admire your strength.
If Jesus was here, he would not treat such ones this way at this point in their life". How one can treat someone so thoughlessly and think they have God's approval proves the point of your subject line, "They just don't get it".
How true this is. It is amazing, with all the teaching about Jesus and the love he showed humankind it still does not open their eyes. Can you imagine Jesus treating someone with such disrespect and carelessly at any time especially at a time like this?
