I'm not sure what that means. I don't have children yet but I know I'd give up my life for my children and husband. And I know my husband-to-be would do the same. That seems only natural.

by unbeliever ini was watching this show in passing and they had a woman on there that said she loved her husband more than her children.
she said by putting her husband first it made her marriage stronger and happier and therefore it made her a better mother.. i did a double take when i heard that.
i don't think it is normal to love a spouse more than your child.

I saw red
by DanTheMan inthis morning i went to the break room at work to get a cup of coffee.
a jw lady from the cong that i da'd from 5 years ago was in there.
normally she doesn't say anything to me, but today she smiles big at me and says in a sing-song voice, "he-ey, the memorial, april 7th!".

I'm sorry your going through this w/ her still. You two were so close and it's sad that the org had to come between that bond. But it seems to me that she's trying to find a way to have a relationship with you again. Maybe she'll come to the conclusion as my sisters did and tell herself that you never really had a relationship w/ Jehovah. So in their eyes it is almost as if I was never baptized. So their conscience allows them to keep contact w/ me.

it was expected; she's been sick in/out of the hospital for a while now.
most of us are more relieved than anything else because she has been so miserable these last six months or longer.

some personal comment.I so want to do this. But I'm sure someone else will. They are leaving time for friends/family to make personal comments.
I'm just so upset on my non-witness family's behalf . . . The past six months or so my Grandma has been saying she's ready to die and go be with my grandfather in heaven.
How dare my self-righteous brother disregard her beliefs b/c he feels he has the "truth".
You know if i go up there and say something like Grandma is in heaven now w/ Grandpa . . . my brother is probably the only one who'll start shunning me. It may be well worth it.

"Public Talks" and "Committee Meetings"!!

i just got an email from the department secretary announcing a "very special public talk" (by this visiting scholar etc) that will be tomorrow here at school- .
stuff like this is funny to me cause so many of the same expressions that the dubs use are used in school here... it used to creep me out but now i kinda revel in using as many of those expressions as possible cause it is a kick in the pants...!

I work with social workers and when I call them many times I'm told they're "out in the field". It doesn't bother me though, but at first I thought it was a little odd.

one can only speculate.
dt 21:10-13 with the lord's approval, the israelites are allowed to take "beautiful women" from the enemy camp to be their captive wives.

My grandmother passed away the other night. It was expected; she's been sick in/out of the hospital for a while now. Most of us are more relieved than anything else because she has been so miserable these last six months or longer.
My Grandma was not religious. She believed in God/Heaven but never really took to going to church.
Well of course my JW family had to bully their way into having my brother give the memorial service. The majority of the family is not witnesses. They all believe my Grandma went to heaven with my Grandfather.
Tonight my brother is going to tell them that she is dead, asleep awaiting the resurrection. And he'll try to put a positive spin on it . . . But he'll basically say:
The only way you'll see your mother/grandmother/friend/sister again is if you study the bible with J-dubs and go to meetings.
I get so pissed off! Even when I was a witness I would have taken other people's feelings and beliefs into consideration and thought it wrong to stick a J-dub up there to preach and count time

Nearly Middle Aged Woman Asks: Should I watch the Sopranos?
by Crumpet inokay last night the sopranos got voted the best drama ever to be shown on tv.
i have never watched a single episode, but before i commit myself to starting from season 1 and working my way through to season 6 or whatever it is up to can anyone here tell me what is good about it.
what are its strengths?.

I love the Sopranos. I can't wait for the new/last season. It will be bitter sweet. Definitely rent/buy the DVDs. Love Big Love too!!!! HBO has been pretty great w/ its TV series. Not enough time to watch them all though.
