It is green here all the time, but in the early Spring it is only in the 70's and low 80's and the humidity is not too bad. I drive my Jag with the sunroof open and the CD player blastin'. The verdant groves are dotted with the cyanic Jacaranda blossoms and the pearl white Confederate Jasmine scent the walkways with their soft fragrance. The myriad fruit trees are blooming with mixed citrus tainted with a seasalt onshore breezes. The birds are nesting and the Manatee and Dolphin are hugging the coastal shoreline in search of food and warmth. And the Gardenia, Bougainvillea, and the Azealas compete in showing off the loudest bouquet! Maverick

Spring 2003
by RAYZORBLADE infor those of you residing in the northern hemisphere, there's nothing more satisfying than the onset of spring.
this a.m., after working a long shift at work, i arrive home after 5 a.m., and it's pleasantly mild (i live in toronto) and the sky is partly cloudy.
the moon is no longer full, but still very bright.

Governments & JW Organization
by Jayson indo you think that the nation that you live in gives "cults" like the jehovah witnesses to much lean way, just right, or not enough?
meaning protection from prosecution, tax breaks, freedom to operate, ect; if could make them, would you want any changes?

Remove all tax considerations, worldwide! Most of the cities in the US are in deep financial trouble. Property taxes alone would put an infusion of cash in local governments. The WatchTower is a corporation and each K-hall is one too. Make them pay corporate taxes! Even at a flat-rate, say 10%, that would help alot. I know this guy who became an ordained minister and sold trips to the holy land. He bragged about what a racket it was, and how he loved to take widows on these trips, especially the young ones! What happened to the 1918 'Resurrection' ?
by refiners fire inbrothers.
sisters.
of recent i have been most interested in those invisible yet world shaking events that altered human history, those taking place in the early part of the 20th century.

Is everyone bitter against JW's?
by Redneckgurl ini have to post this question, because as i was trying so hard to talk to my husband about what i am learning and what others are saying, he is saying i am not doing this objectively at all, and only hearing things from bitter exjw's who are angry at the org for something.
i say this isn't true, i wasn't searching for answers due to a negative occurance in my life, and i don't believe everyone here was either.
he says i am only emotional about this, and trying to find reasons to prove all the things i have learned as wrong.

Don't expect too much from your husband. Most walk away because of things that happen from within not outside. I began to bottom-line things. I stopped being an idealist long enough to see that what they said was not what they did. I am slow, it took a long time. I became depressed and even the thought of going to meetings would set off feelings of melancholy. I had to travel to Australia where a dear friend helped me to see my way clear. Hopefully you too can be free, but as for anyone else, they have to take that first step themselves. Maverick

My daughter is graduating from high school next month. She has lived with me all her life. Her mother, a good and faithful Dud, ran off with a 'worldly' co-worker five years ago. He went to jail not long after she abandoned us and she went back to the J-duds. Now, I am the biggest apostate in the county. My daughter was told that if I go to her high school graduation, the same school I went to 30 years ago, her mother won't go! I set no such conditions on my daughter. I'll sit in the back if that is what it will take. My little girl hates the Duds because of this unchristian crap. Her mother lays all these conditions on her even being around her. I set no limits on visits or ever asked for child support, and I cashed out my retirement to keep the peace. What loving parent wants their child to not have a good relationship with the other parent. I want my daughter to know and interact with her mother. I think it is SICK to blackmail a child with regard to that childs other parent. These people are the most unloving and Godless bunch of hypocrites on the face of the planet! Thank you for letting me air this, I am pissed! I think I'll go send out some more NGO letters! Maverick

"Having Too Much Knowledge Is Not A Good Thing"
by minimus inso said my mother about my research of the bible and the society's publications.
i read "too much", especially because it's information that imperfect men thought was correct that came from jehovah, "but they were wrong.

The J-dud Masters tell you to 'study' and put their BS down into your heart, but not too deep, because new light may dawn and you will be left behind if you fail to keep pace, ( unload the last crap with the undated crap)! My ex used to tell me she wished I was a little less smart. Then I wouldn't have caught her cheatin'. Maverick

How much money would it take for you to go out in service?
by unbeliever insay you had to go out in field service for 2 hours in your neighborhood and talk to your neighbors about jehovah.
what would somebody have to pay you to do this or would you not do it for any amount of money?
if i am going to humilate myself it better be worth my while.

I do it under two conditions; 1). I could wear a placard that said This is all nonsense! Just doing it for the $$$$, and 2) get to play Doc. Demento with the fine Sister I go door to door with AFTERWARD! Maverick

WT meeting comments - on "media reports"
by FreeWilly inwell i went to a meeting while visiting my family.
i was particularly interested in the comments from the wt paragraphs that medioned recent "media reports" in it.. first off, i found it rather clever the way the wt worded the paragraphs regarding media reports.
they asked "how do you feel when you hear reports about jws in the media that are distortions or outright lies"?

Thanks for the first hand report on the WatchTower meeting. On Blondies post these "lies" were discussed. The FDS framed their statements to imply what point they wanted to get across without liable. They could not just come out and say the media distorted, or that none of the reported stories were true because this would be illegal and subject them to lawsuits. They confer with their Legal Dept. on everything. The RF grasp at anything the FDS tell them. The membership blind themselves so as not to see the truth about their own religous leaders. Maverick
