What is all this stuff? My best buddy is a flaming Aussie. Big, hairy, smelly brut with a heart of gold...er maybe its brass...anyway, I have been 'in country' and all I can say about the locals, (Australian) is summed up in an observation I have made. The two spokesmen that the tourist board in Australia uses to promote their country; Steve Irwin and Paul Hogan both have American wives. My buddy has a very beautiful American wife and I, (after having checked out the local ladies with great care and lust), would do the same as those guys. When an Aussie comes here and meets our gals the homely local yocals just can't compete. Maverick PS They can't cook either!

What Do The English & Australians Think Of Americans On This Board???
by minimus init seems to me that this board's force comes mainly from our english and aussie friends.
i've read comments that some have gotten annoyed that the society and gb seem to only stress the "american" english in their style of writing.
i'm just curious as to what you think of your american brethren.

Proud of my Sister
by mattnoel in.
as you are probably aware i have two sisters, one we will call the b*tch jw who is self righteous and feels that she has a one way ticket to everlasting life (but in the meantime will sponge off others and be nasty and selfish) and then the other one who is not a jw and is absolutely wonderfull.. well...............she has finished her demo tape this last week and i got my copy via e mail, she has written her own album and sung it all, she sounds wonderfull.
one of the songs is being forwarded to record agencies all over the uk and aus and she also has a audition on pop idol later this year.. i know this may not be of interest to you, but i just wanted to post this as i am so proud of her, i would love to post the song on here but due to a big fat (c) on it i cant and if made publically availiable who is gonna want to buy it if it is released.. anyway, ta for reading.

Tell her to be very careful with the record companies. Read the contracts and check out everything. OK, that said, when she makes it give us the details and I'll buy her CD. Maverick PS Best of Luck!

I think we should take all the pathetic, miserable, petty, small-minded, criminal types and give them jobs in Congress....Hey, wait, we did that already! To all you foreigners, tell you what, I promise not to judge you based on the actions of your sportsman/women, politicians, actors, entertainers, and business people if you'll do me and my country the same courtesy! Fair enough? Maverick

Why can't I just shut up about the JWs?
by logansrun inyou know, i'm pretty smart and pretty dumb all rolled up into one.
i have a pretty decent relationship with my jw mother who basically never says anything about religion one or the other.
well, i got into conversation with her about hindu music and how i really liked it (ravi shankar is awesome!).

I must commend you, it is good to question one motives on ones behavior. And I think I know why this bothers you so. You love your mother. You care a lot about her. You like her as a person, but are frustrated by this inconsistant side of her. You are an adult and want to have adult conversations with a person you respect and have concern for. You see the flaw in her reasoning and want to help her. But she would not have it and that hurts. Since she can't be objective you will have to be objective for the both of you. Be the loving child you want to be by overlooking her weakness in this area. Do the dance, after all she has been doing by leaving religion alone when with you. The only difference is you will know you are stepping around the issue and she is doing it subconsciously. Deep down she knows you are right. Give her time and love. Maverick

What Happened To All Your Friends???
by minimus into become a witness, you must leave everything behind and associate only with jw's.
did you think that you really were going to only associate with jehovah's witnesses and no one else???
---------- after you left or got df'd, did you regain your past "worldly" friendships or were they forever lost?

I guess I wasn't good at kissing off my old buddies. I never pissed them off. I am a very loyal type. You have to draw first blood to get me to drop you as a friend. Most of my old friends are happy I came to my senses and proved they were in fact true blue. Can't say the same for most of the J-duds, they are all too happy to shin you and kiss you off, ( except some of the sisters)! Maverick

Why does the US call itself ALONE"America"?
by JH inas far as i'm concerned, the united states is in north america, just like canada and mexico.
so why do americans think "america" means only the us?
so often i hear americans talk about the us as "america".. .

We are AmeriCA the rest of the two continents are the AmeriCAS. I know this subtle difference might be lost on our foreign friends. But they are spelled differently! I didn't make this up, OK! And the sun rarely sets on our carrier battle groups. And nowhere is too far for our stelth aircraft and nuclear subs. And our satellites see y-all taking a dump anywhere on the planet. And our flag is planted on the surface of the moon, for over thiry years! Maverick

Beware of geeks making sweet talk. This guy could hurt you if he wanted. Based on what you've said, he's a liar and a sneak. Poison his tea next time. Maverick

The people I deal with spend money to make money. If you think in hundred you attract hundreds, think in thousand and you attract thousands. Money is a tool. It is of little value unless you 'cash it in'. Money comes and goes but people are were the real value lies. Most of the wealthy people, ( eight figures or better) that I work for know the value of other people. That's what keeps them in the know and subsequently in the money. Money is just a by-product of their interaction. If any one gets the 'greed bug, they will avoid that one. That usually happens to the newbies. These people will test you out. Rip them off for a few thousand and you cut yourself off from hundreds of thousands. Trust is everything. Maverick
