They may be losing a little credibility with the RF. Or it may be that because they have so many new ones coming in to replace the smart ones that left they have to reaffirm their Divine Right of power. There may be a way to gage how insecure the GB feel. If they harp on their Divine Rights a lot and often maybe this is a sign they are not getting the worship they feel they deserve. Maverick

You might think that I need help that I have been brain washed.
by garybuss inthis was in my e-mail this morning.
******the reason why you left the truth, the truth and not the "truth" like you people believe, is because you have no humility and no love.
when people like you commit something wrong and get disfellowship you can't say to yourself "i was wrong, i messed up, me and only me," you can't say that because is much easier to go around blaming others for your own mistakes.

I think it is a great letter! I printed it out and used it to line the litter box. Monday I will drop it by the PO's house and put it in his door on the way to work. Smell ya later, Maverick

Baptism Nullification Letter
by Balsam ini have heard of one witness who was baptized at 13 getting their baptism nullified.
have any of you tried this and has it worked?
i created a letter for my 19 year old son after the elders of our old congregation kept harassing him, and want him to meet with the judical committee.

That was the claim, God, Husband and then the lowly, submissive, wife. In reality it is the WatchTower, the Elders and then the Husband. Then they pat the little lady on the head and wink!Maverick

Show me the money (WT as Fannie Mae?)
by gcc2k ini posted this on the "remodeling the kh" thread and did not get the desired feedback.. when everyone is done picking on me over in the cbs/silentlambs thread, maybe you can turn your attention to the following questions.. .
1) if the society still charges interest on the loans to the congregations, how does the society justify this, since it is clearly unscriptural?
surely there has been a "questions from our readers" about this?

I believe the Society has controlling interest in all buildings within the Corporate. When I was the Account Servant, the first time, The Society charged 7% interest on the Hall loan and set up all the required insurances, for which it was reimbursed. If the locals donated the land, build the Hall themselves, paid all the ensuing debts and expenses themselves, but in some future date had a falling out with the Society, they could and would be put out of that building and new people of the Societies choosing would replace them. They own it all, you get nothing but lead out the door and off the property! Maverick

Quit Picking On Us; We're Faithful Prophets
by onacruse injehovah s faithful people on earth publicly emphasized the importance of the dates 1914 and 1918 and 1925. they had much to say about these dates and what would come to pass, but not all they predicted came to pass.
the predictions, as to the dates, were correct, but what came to pass could not be fully seen in advance.
the failure to come to pass of some of the things predicted has afforded satans agents in christendom, particularly the clergy and the man of sin, an opportunity to ridicule and reproach the faithful servants of the most high god, and to say of and concerning them and their published statements: all their visions and predictions have failed; and such proves that they are all wrong, and that all their predictions for the future must fail.

The WT truth is written in silly puddy instead of stone. That way it can be stretched and twisted and folded into whatever shape they need. Or they can roll it up and 'erase' its writings and pen something different. Maverick

What Do The English & Australians Think Of Americans On This Board???
by minimus init seems to me that this board's force comes mainly from our english and aussie friends.
i've read comments that some have gotten annoyed that the society and gb seem to only stress the "american" english in their style of writing.
i'm just curious as to what you think of your american brethren.

I love this stuff! I am second generation American, homestead in the South, (may she rise again) and have hoofed it all over the U.S., the Pacific and spent some time Down Under. We are a very arrogate,( deservedly so) proactive, extreme bunch. We know we run things and don't give a lick what anyone thinks about it. It is a fact so deal with it. But be careful how you do, world. We will come and kick some butt if you go face to face with us. We love the Brits and the Aussies and everyone I know wants to truck on down to Australia. Hell, I want to go back, it's like going back in time....about 50 years! I love the accents and the odd way y-all think. Makes life interesting. Have plans to take a train all around England... You call us violent, hell if Europe had the guns we have the murder rate would go through the roof there! We baby our people, its the damb lawyers and civil lawsuits, but in the end we are there for you fellows. We cover your backs, and stand guard against the ravishing hoards. Whine all you want but we'll see who comes with hat in hand when the chips are down and it's time to call or fold...Did I use enough idioms? I know that drives them foreigners nuts! Maverick of the "don't f--k with me cause I'm armed " class!

I remember a sister at the Hall telling me about her newly married friend, also a sister. Her friend, a very beautiful and shapely women in her 30's had complained that her husband, an Elder a few years younger than her, stayed up until very late playing computer games. I shook my head and replied, " If I was married to her I wouldn't be up late on the computer I'd be 'busy'!" My lady friend laughed, turned red and walked away with this "you devil" look on her face. Ladies are way more fun than computers. And being there for your mate is a biggie. I helped deliver my daughter in 1984. Maverick
