Reasons To Be Faithful - Part 2.
by Englishman inpart 1.. because, if you are unfaithful to your spouse and embark on an adulterous affair, you will incur the wrath of jehovah which will lead to you being disfellowshipped and ultimately being slain by his hand at armageddon.. part 2.. you would never do such a thing because you love your partner too much.. ..and therein lies the rub.. i've known many newbie-ex's who have played around once they've decided to leave the jw's.
in many cases it was because they hadn't even thought about part 2 above.
part 1 was such a dominating factor that when they left they abandoned that belief.

Who else hasn't got a pension plan?!!!!!!!
by Gill inwell here we are starting to think about retiring in another twenty years and what do we find?
we find that we've missed the best years of our lives for saving in a pension plan simply because we knew that we wouldn't need one because armageddon was coming.
we were told by quite a few elders in our congregation that simply having a pension plan showed lack of faith that the kingdom was coming very soon and we should actively get rid of the company pension plans that we had.

My retirement plan got wiped out in my divorce but I have started to reinvest with a 15 year plan. My daughter has an American Express and I told her she could go on a shopping spree and I would pay it as a Christmas gift. I gave her a limit and she is good about not going over. I got an unexpected tax refund from 2002. The government used my money for two years and gave me 4% interest on it. I showed my daughter what my growth portfolio would have done with that same money. She then asked if I would take the money I was going to let her go shopping with and seed a retirement plan for her. I was sooooooooooooooooo proud! I will set her up before the end of the year. She is 20 and if she makes the minimum contribution, in ten years she will be so glad she did this. If she works the portfolio right she will be one well-off woman in her later years. The joys of compound interest!

The WTS and Holidays
by Maverick init's that time of year again and the age old problem of conflict between the wts and the worldly family emerges once more.
so to all you lurkers and newbees let me just say this.
forget the religious aspect of the pagan origins of these times.

Most of the people who come here know all this stuff already but I posted it for the new ones that are in conflict over the Holidays. They need to start realizing that all the WTS has told them may be true about the origins of celebrations but so is the calendar and wedding rings, and a hundred other things we say and do everyday. The difference is the WTS needs to find things that will cause the most problems with those who will influence your thinking and keep you from falling for their mind control.

It's that time of year again and the age old problem of conflict between the WTS and the worldly family emerges once more. So to all you lurkers and newbees let me just say this. Forget the religious aspect of the pagan origins of these times. Forget the rhetoic of how God will feel if you succumb to the spirit of the Holidays. The WTS pick and choose what God gets angry about and what He is cool with. And they pick it based on their need to get YOU to alienate YOURSELF from anyone who is not a JW. This time of year is not a test of your loyalty to GOD, but a test of your loyalty to the commands of the WTS! This holiday time is important to the WTS to reinforce the pain and insults and shame caused by your not sharing this time with those who, if not for the WTS, would be the ones you would count on in troubled times. I can attest that inspite of how you treat your family they will be the ones to help you and not the WTS when you need help the most. The WTS is a jealous, petty, selfish god who takes great joy in the suffering its slaves do for it.
Happy holidays! Maverick

When you returned to your "WORLDLY" family how were you treated?
by wizedup inwhen we leave the witness "family" we know how inhumanly we're treated.
when some return, there is no rejoicing, clapping or undue expressions of "joy" allowed openly.
the gb wants a period of proving yourself worthy to be back in the "fold".

Buy an aluminum baseball bat and put it in the trunk of your car, visit these guys who had your wife late at night when they are walking up their walkways after hitting the local bar, and get them real acquainted with the sound of that bat bouncing off their wrists, knees, elbows and shoulders....you get the idea. Then everytime you think of what a dirt-bag your wife is, ping the bat with your finger....it's great therapy!

Best turkey recipe?
by bebu inhere's one i've used for years.
i only urge caution if your oven fluctuates or is unreliable in temperature, or if you think the power will go out for some reason during the course of baking.
take your bird, get it all ready to roast (stuff it just before you are prepared to bake it).

Take the biggest, fattest P.O. you can bribe with free food, stuff him with all the lastest WTS "spiritual" food, bake him for two days at a local quick build, garnish him with four Ministrial Servant Elder want-a-bees, sprinkle in lots of local gossip and you will have a major turkey feast!
