Yeah I know Kate, I gave up on RI process over half a yr ago. After all the lies I've been told and the 'love' I experienced I just couldn't stomach it anymore. I needed to get my life back on track the RI procedure was sucking away all my energy.

That's my point too Searcher. If you sit in the middle it's no problem to pass the symbols, otherwise it is...it's just ehm weird.
After the memorial I asked an elder why that happened. He said he should've told me about this before and that they tried to put me in the middle of the row to avoid this situation, but I came in seconds before the start and as did others. I was trying to be polite and let the others take seats before me.

I'm not saying I'm going. I'm just curious how they come up with this rule and for what reason. My bro is an elder and he told me they have an instruction for this. A df'd guy in his cong experienced the same thing, the guy never set a foot in a hall again after that.

Last year I decided to attend the memorial. I came in last minute and ended up sitting at the end of the row. When the symbols were passed out they skipped me and gave to the person next to me. I was in shock for a second... seems there's a BOE letter from the past that speaks of this modus operandi for df'd at the memorial. Anyone familiar with this? What's the scriptural base for this?

Anyone Can be baptised - Can't they?
by tim hooper indoes a new convert have to be approved for baptism by the elders or someone similar i wonder?.
years ago, at a circuit assembly, i came across a young man whose jw father had thrown him out of the family home because of his abusiveness.
he'd got nowhere to go so he travelled south and finished up attending our local assembly.

About fifteen years ago there's was a guy who's wife was a jw. He just sat at the front row at his first CA and stood up for the 2 baptismquestions, answered both with yes and without ever having a meeting with the elders, he got baptized too and was a brother from that point on. So I guess the answer to your question is yes.

Five dollars says you can't guess what this is...
by RayPublisher ini recently heard a very funny story about this strange (and common) plant and did some research on it.
i already knew a little about it like the common name, etc., but what i found amazed me.. .

I agree with JeffT. I experimented a whole lot with psychedelics in my younger (pre-JW) days. This is one to pass. When I took this I literally saw my skin, muscles and veins fall of my bones and I could feel it too, worst thing I've ever experienced.

Why do we have Assemblies?
by Rattigan350 inwhy do we have assemblies?
was the topic of the book/brochure study last week.. the answer not presented is that they are the organization's black friday.
stores do black friday as a loss leader to get people into the stores to spend money on more pricey stuff, not discounted.. assemblies are put on to give away books and other literature and have dramas to get people in to donate and contribute more than normally done.. yes, religion is a business.

As I'm visiting meetings, I felt disturbed by the fact that the same study article in the MoreInfo Box publishers are referred to as 'your Bibleteacher'. It immediately reminded me of Matthew 23:7,8 They... like to be called Rabbi by men. But you, do not you be called Rabbi, for one is your Teacher, and all of you are brothers

This topic explains it well, although it's a lot of reading. http://thetruthaboutthetruthaboutthetruth.blogspot.nl/2005/11/jerusalems-destruction-587-or-607.html
