Just this week I FINALLY got the United by Divine Teaching video via eBay. I bought it so I can give details of the film to the IMDB.
As you might have known, this was totally one-sided about the JWs. There was nothing of DFing, the DAs, the secret files (as seen in the Witnesses of Jehovah video).In fact, the narrator said that baptism was the event that seals one as a JW FOREVER.
Included were highlights of the Kiev baptism where 7,402 got assimilated into the Borg (if anyone attended that convention, please let me know). I wonder how many were baptized that day in Kiev have seen the light and left. Maybe some may have been read JWD or some other site (remember, the Net was unknown except to computer geeks in 1993) and learned the truth. The ones who got dunked in 1993 didn't know about 1975 and other false prophecies, etc. (BTW, are there any other WT videos, both produced by the Society and not produced by them (ie, Witnesses of Jehovah), that show baptisms?)
I think this site appeals to ex-JWs and non JWs who have run into them like me or have had some coincidences, like I was born seven years to the day that the 7136 were baptized in New York. And for these Borg, resistance IS NOT FUTILE.
I hope JWD will continue to shine the truth on the activities of the WTBTS.

well, the mental picture this painted was far too much for me to bear, so i encouraged her to save her red polka-dotted "unmentionables", not only because she might need them in the future, but because i didn't think she'd have to go that far to get his attention.

Johnny Bench (he came to my school in 73). We all thought baseball players were superheroes - but greed, the Pete Rose gambling incident, the fact that the Reds said they would be competitive when they got to Great American Ballpark last year only to see top players like Aaron Boone, Scott Williamson, etc. traded to other teams, overpaid primadonnas, the fact that big money teams get good players while small market teams lose them, etc., etc., etc. It's no wonder many people have gone on to other sports like say NASCAR.
Emma Samms (came to Cincy in 1984 and told her that General Hospital (for the young ones out there, it was big back then) was off the air in Dayton. She went to Dynasty and back to GH and then to Models Inc. and back to England - and GH was still off the air there. It came back to Dayton in 2000 after 17 years!) Last heard from, Holby City on the BBC (and it's not on BBC America).
Chris Benoit (met him at work - he may become WWE champ at WrestleMania). I post wrestling updates on rec.arts.tv. He was on Raw tonight.

Anyway, I found it shocking that the last illustration shows three children reading My Book of Bible Stories and on the floor is a copy of the HOLY BIBLE (hokey smoke! Where was the NWT?)

What would the WTS need to do to become a mainstream religion?

I tell you this, there will be a schism within JWs within the next 10-20 years because of the flip flops in their teachings, d/fs and d/as, blood transfusions, what one country does another doesn't (did you know that the baptizers at the Sydney international convention did NOT get into the water - and the pools used at the immersion was made of (get this!), aluminum), no women can be elders/perform baptisms/be a GB member, etc. I expect that one JW splinter group (at least) will be set up like the Borg are now, but they will practice true Christianity, maybe using the KJV or NKJV version of the Bible and abandoning traditional WT teachings.
I also tell you this: if JWs embraced true Christianity from the get-go, maybe people would have gladly accepted the knocking at the door.
