  Major WTS Prophecy goes down to defeat !!!

  many here may recall that the watchtower society has published much material on the prophetic role of the united nations ... specifically, the united nations is the scarlet colored wild beast, the "image" of the worldly 7 headed wild political beast ... it would be given life by the two-horned dual world power of britain and america, the "lamb-like beast spoken of in revelation ... this "image" beast would be given power to rule one prophetic hour over the nations as they subordinate their national sovereignty to it ... and so on ...

  then ... after the creation of the united nations in 1945 in san francisco the wts interpreted revelation regarding the demise of the old league of nations to apply to a statement in revelation that this "image" beast would be revived in the form of the united nations ... seemingly, the wts was on to something ... and for the next 45 years (until about 1990) the watchtower published anything and everything they could to make their interpretation stick with respect to how deep in the time of the end they believed we were living in ... then, about 1990, the watchtower society joined the un as a member ngo ... a significant departure from their previous stand on political neutrality ... and ... hatred of satan's old system of things ... certainly, since we are nearly 90 years into the last days of this wicked system we would expect the un to be in control or at least taking the lead ...

  so, now ... where do we stand as of march 19th, 2003?

  There is,of course, some point in reasoning with current JWs. The problemis doingit effectively, without all the hot air. A thoughtful comment, without being pushy, particularly if very brief, and delivered without criticism, could get the thinking-type JW really thinking. I'e seen this happen to an elder I casually mentioned the UN matter to. there was no argument or any overt attempt at concincing him. Just mentioned how disaapointed one was that the Society will be hunting with the hares and running with the hounds; condeming the churches of Christiandom and at the same time preparingthe papers for registration with the UN DPI (Department of Public Information), and that the requestion for deletion was too close to the Stephen Bates article for any comfort. He did his own research. His findingout stuff. I'm unhappy formakinghim unhappy. But try making omelette without breaking eggs... So just take it easy. Don't do it with all that steam in you. Easy does it. It's a slow process, like evolution...

  An elder left a paper at my door

  since the last 6 weeks, the elders are trying to get a hold of me, but i specialize in being invisible.

  so now they left a little paper at my door asking that i call elder x so that he can talk to me.

  do you think i should keep on avoiding them since they are about to end their 3 month call on inactive ones?

  i agree that you should act like younever received it or just flat refuse to meet them and if they df you sue them for slander or something

  born around 1920. .

  he was baptized while adolescent and in 1939 was already bethelite.

  its my understanding that this guy was responsible for a lot of the hard line policies , specifically regarding the blood issue, maybe this is good news in that the WT will lightenp somewhat. any thoughts?

  The" Letter" returns

  last night when i got home from work low and behold my mother-in-law you know the one who wrote me "the letter" was sitting in my living room eating my food going over my wifes talk with her .

  i went in my room took off my work clothes and came out and told her i have a problem with this.

  you told me you could no longer talk or eat or socialize with me so why are you here in my home?

  i persoanlly would try the killing with kindness bit. in my family i only have one sibling who shuns me but i am nice to her and i think it makes her feel bad in fact i know it does but she feels like she is doing the right thing, oh well someday she will see the light and then won't she feel dumb

  More casualties of the August 2002 KM

  my father has just become a grandfather for the first time and may never get to see his grandson because my brother has cut off all ties with him.. my best friend was offered a free holiday by his parents so he would be away on the day of his sister's wedding.. and what have these people done to deserve such heinous treatment?

  my father was disfellowshipped for adultery over twenty years ago, my best friend for smoking when he was seventeen.. i'm so mad i can't even put it into words properly.

  i want to scream, i want to lash out at the despicable bastards who instigated this policy, and the snivelling cowards who obey it without question.. but what can i do?

  I just read that August KM and I find it hard to believe they actaully printed that. The reason being is that my family hasn't changed towards me whatsoever and believe me they are hardcore. I'm glad and I hope they keep it up. I wish I could just come out and tell them how much I hate the org and all of its stupid policies and try to knock some sense into them but that would just end our relationship completely and I dont want that and I think it would kill my mother even though she would go along with it out of fear.
