I breastbed both my kids; my son for 13 mo and daughter for 7. I would have done it longer but it just stopped; one nice thing was I didn't have to wean them. For me it was a wonderful bonding experience. Plus I didn't have go to the kitchen in the middle of the night to prepare the bottle; just bring them into bed with me, or the cuddle chair. It always amazes me how society condones women going nude in public (which is allowed in Canada) but get offended when a mother feeds her child in public. A pedophile (in BC) feels his rights are violated because he is arrested for having child pornography and a woman is criticized for breastfeeding. As long as it done discreetly (not whipped out for all to see) then I think a woman should be able to do it almost anywhere. My son was kind of noisy so I wouldn't have done it in a quiet place where it might have distracted some people.

Hi SheilaM
One of the things I'll always treasure is when my son, took his sister and I out for pizza (the best pizza place in this city). He was about 12. He had a paper route at the time. I was sitting in the middle of them on a bar stool at the counter. My son got up and went around to his sister to ask her if everything was okay; if she wanted anything else. (I'm getting teary-eyed) For a moment I thought, should I pay for this. But I couldn't take this away from him. He wanted to do something special for us. I will treasure this forever.

I don’t drink much alcohol. I usually drink tea. But I do enjoy wine, ameretto straight, sometimes white rum & orange juice, and when it’s really hot (the weather) I like a very cold Molsons Canadian or Labatts Blue. In Mexico I really enjoyed Carona (can’t remember how to spell it) I don’t know how Europeans can drink that dark, warm stuff. RazorBlade: Bloody Caesars! they are so good-forgot about that. When I was young and foolish I sometimes drank Black Russians.

Hi Gopher: Thanks for letting me know who sang the song. A couple of weeks ago I was "wracking"? my brain trying to figure out the name of an artist from the late 50's, early 60's. I can't even remember the song - maybe "hurt so bad" but I think that may be Anthony & the Imperials. All I remember, he passed away quite a few years ago. I believe he became destitute and died of alcoholism. He was a great singer. I didn't even connect Jackie Wilson with Higher & Higher. Maybe one of these days I'll remember. When I worked at a radio station many years ago I could name artists and songs just like that, but now. Getting old I guess (no, no I'm getting better with age)

To me, every woman who has ever nurtured, loved, or cared for the soul of another human being is a 'mother'. The word should be accepted worldwide as more of a verb than a noun.
I agree with you Essie.
Two of my aunts couldn't have children. Another aunt lost her first child before it was born (at 7 months) and my mother almost lost me. Another family member lost two of her children before they were born; the last one she held in her arms in her bathroom. She does have three other children. You start to think that maybe you might not be able to have children, but I do have two children and am so thankful for them. There are many times being a parent is difficult but I have never taken the privilege of being their mother for granted. Redneck I can't imagine what both you and your wife went through and are still going through. I'm so sorry.

Music - one of my favourite topics
There's too many to mention: on the top of my head: Happy Together-Turtles (just a happy song), Gimme, Gimme Some Lovin-Spencer Davis Group, (your love has lifted me) Higher & Higher (can’t remember who sang it), The Chain-Fleetwood Mac, Sting, Van Morrison, Rhythm of my Heart-Rod Stewart. I could go on and on. I really did like Roberta Flack also and I do have to mention again Marvin Gaye.

Hi Jesika: I'm so happy for you. Yesterday I had a on my face for the whole day. I wasn't sure if either one of my kids would do anything. My daughter asked me to go with her to her church (we go to different ones) It was much different, but I really enjoyed it. Even bumped into old friends; one that I hadn't seen in years. When we got home my daughter made our lunch and we ate and chatted and spent the afternoon together. It was wonderful. Later in the day my son came over with a gift for me. He had burned six Pink Floyd cd's. (We both like Pink Floyd; I didn't tell him though that I don't like every thing they do - there are a few that I really like, such as the Wall) It was so sweet that he took the time to do this. I appreciated it much more than if he had bought a gift. My daughter asked why I was crying, but I just got a little teary eyed. Some day (hopefully) she will understand. The three of us had supper together and shared a bunch of laughs. I love to lie down after the day is over, and say "this has been a wonderful day" I'm glad it was a wonderful day for you also Jesika.

Hi Stinky Pantz: Not sure if you'll go back to this but if you do, thanks for responding to my post. I've had a busy weekend, so I was unable to respond. I honestly thought I would have gotten a bit more responses, mostly critical from some here. I was prepared for that. You said that it wouldn't work. Personally I think it would work if people really wanted it to work. Who would handle the money? As I basically mentioned in my first post, we could have the fund registered, and through banks we could collect $. A much simpler way is for each person that wanted to be involved start something on their own and give to the charity of their choice; we would just report back here to see how much was collected. As for honesty; you can't avoid that. Some people are honest; some not.
Almost there: I assume your comment is sarcastic. Just praying about it wouldn't work, we do have to do our part. He doesn't have a magic wand, like some would like Him to have.
