I have never been married but I have been in a few committed long term relationships. My point is that I may not be that experienced in relationships. But this is the second time in a couple of months I have read of a wife or husband laying down the law in a spouse's religious involvement. And being on this board for about 8 years counting a couple of other abandoned and forgotten accounts. I never heard a partner say those words and still be together. On both instances I checked for hyper-bowling, and nope, it all checks out. Do married people so casually make such threats? Those are walking words to me. Or as one poster said b..... words but this time I let someone else get I just could not tolerate such. How common is this?

What do you mean by "talk in Twickenbobbie?" The way you use it sounds like you are saying THE talk in Twickenhammy as if to say there was this one really big talk given in a really special place that everyone knows about. Or are you just say that he gave an ordinary talk in an ordinary place, just a regular old talk.

Knowledge by Proxy
by braincleaned inwhatever our convictions are, we all have one thing in common; we have learned them from other sources.. we have knowledge by proxy... we didn't find things out all by ourselves.
we let trusted sources talk for us.. belief is not something that you choose.
but if there is no elephant, i do not "choose" to believe it isn't there either.

Abandon belief for direct experience. As much as possible.

Im usually down to meet anybody. There is a couple of people here in Long Beach, CA I know of, one that. I did meet once, but it was such a brief meeting and they never wanted to meet again. Im not sure what I was expecting or what he was expecting. It was back when yahoo meet-up still existed. Its usually like pulling teeth to get anyone to meet up in my experience.

This would read so well in verse. That's how I read it anyway.

SOOO - this is what they think passes for "piousneering " nowadays???
by hamsterbait inon my way into work, i saw a "litterature waggon" strapped to a lamp post outside the railway station.. three (i kid you not) three "pious sneers" were standing, almost thirty feet away, gossiping laughing.. i watched for about five minutes, not one person looked at the stuff (it had "bible" on it so warned passersby cult.).
they never once went near the display to draw attention to it.
in fact, only an ex dubbie would have known they were connected with it.. by the end of the morning, they will have put in 3 x number of hours standing chatting and drinking coffee to keep warm.

I saw a table set up at a kingdom hall parking lot, actually blocking the driveway and right on the edge of the sidewalk on Pacific ave here in Long Beach, CA. There was a group of about 5 of them standing around goofing off. Then later on my way home I passed some sisters and Iasked them in spanish if they were out preaching. They said resoundingly, "no." ?

Sadly, fading is bad for my marriage
by stillin inwhile headship has always been a problem in my marriage, partly because i'm more of a team player and my wife has man issues, now that i'm clearly fading my wife feels that i have nothing of worth to say.. i resist the idea of divorce but this is not much of a marriage.
since she doesn't/ can't hold down a job alimony would be ridiculously expensive.
cheaper to keep her, as they say.. i get zero cooperation or even discussion for any adjustments i feel might be in order for us as we grow older: obabmacare?

The first athiest I met was in the field ministry. It was the first person to ever demolish everything I said. He completely neutralized my every argument. The first thing he did was completely discredit the bible and wiyhout thst authority to claim I wss lost. I was an athiesist for many yesrs and I still think like one. Except for a psychdelic experience I hsve no proof of god and evrry line of reasoning just crumbles when you try and defend god. If you havent seen god in some sort of vision you have no business believing in it. To this dayiI have never seen a theist win an argument over god.
