over the last couple of years i've been trying to experience activities and interests that would have been frowned upon when i was still a dub.one of the things that i've really developed a passion for is metal and hard rock, in particular metal really strikes a chord with me (pun intended).

i'm pretty much a big fan of almost anything metallica has done, i also dig a lot of the more recent groups like tool, a perfect cricle, sevendust, etc.. but there's still a lot of old school metal groups that i want to go back and listen to.

any suggestions on any good late 70's-80's metal bands?

It is hard for me to idolize Rush now since I have met some of the band, worked somewhere that they used as a service, they were, well, not what you would expect, really tarnished the image for me.

Though they did use some occult references the Black Sabbath was NOT an occult band. I love many of their songs like Ironman ( my high school sport teams were the Ironmen!), Warpigs, Fairies Wear boots and many more such as the one that goes

"Finished with my woman cause she couldn't help me with my mind,.........people think I am insane because I am frowning all the time"

I loved it when Ozzy was with them! Check out Ozzy's stuff too, and Alice Cooper (he really is quite funny and has a great slow song that they play on our local country station often "Only Women Bleed" (no it is not a dirty song, it is about a woman's pain) and I love "Millie and Billy" "Steven" and "Gail"

You might also want to check out Slayer and give some of the glam rock bands a listen, just don't look at the album covers! I don't know where I would have been without the original Motley Crue their song "Shout at the Devil" helped me pass english class!

Canucks: Cut The Ties To Britain

for we canucks, the old ties to britain still linger, with no benefit whatsoever to us.

time to dump the monarchs/monarchy.

for pomp and ceremony we parade the royals when they come here, and i don't think...they...are paying their way.

Ok, personally I like the Monarchy but I do think that Canada should have it's own people on the money and such, to keep ties with Britian is a good thing but just how much is debatable.

BUT if we need a new Queen here I would love to be considered for the nomination LOL OFF WITH THEIR HEADS!

This may almost sound out of place but CONGRATULATIONS! If this person is so narrow minded as to treat you like that better you find out before they try to convert you!

My mother was a born again Christian and she was able to accept and understand me and my pagan ways! She told me that what was important was believing in a higher power, the name it had or how you connected to it did not matter, for in the end, the important part was the belief in something higher and more spiritual than we are.

Daughter Moving On From JW BF . . .

my daughter has been accepting of my intervening in her relationship with an unbaptized jw.

although still sad at times, she is determined to finish high school (this is her senior year) and go on to college.

(carl, her x-boyfriend, is a hs drop out and aspires to get a job at guitar center and eventually get certified for smog inspecting automobiles.

why would you bathe the baby with something cooking in the kitchen anyway? When I bathed my kids I made sure that everything was off and that the phone was on the answering machine.
