Hiring a new fellow today and they must be white.
by hambeak inas some of you know i am a manager of an auto repair place that does it all.. the owner is ethiopian and hates blacks.
i had a great guy there who is black and did a great job.
the owner absolutely was rude and nasty to him calling him an animal and ordered him fired because he was slow in getting things done.. i am caught in the middle cuz i need my job to pay the bills so no more black or mexican workers just white folks even though most i have seen are not motivated or see something that has to be done so now i am a baby sitter and have to let them know what has to be done every minute of the day.. oh well such is the life working for foreigners here in the usa..

I wonder if it's too late to go back to call up some of the applicants who were passed over on account of race/ethnic origin. And I wonder how you can document that you are trying to follow the law.
All of these workers are legal workers, right? And they speak sufficient English? And they have the qualifications and attitudes (work ethics) one needs for working at your place? Then they should never be disqualified.
Can you get some advice from a gov't office or legal office, advice on how to protect yourself and your job while you follow the law? I really hate racial discrimination.

Will I go to hell?
by Anony-Mouse ina freind of mine (over the internet) has been debating with me about whether or not i will go to hell.
being the great freind he is, he says i am absolutely bound for hell, simply because i don't believe in god anymore.
john 3:16,17 says something or other about only people believing will be saved or somesuch.

God's standards are too high for lowly folk like myself. So I'm doomed.
Not just you, but everyone. That is why your friend mentioned Ephesians to you. Grace spans that gap. Is it harder to accept grace, or to make God's standards? Some find grace harder.

Death, is death our only destiny?
by Blueblades insoon after we arrive on this earth, we become aware of the most fundamental fact of our existence, that we won't be here very long.
an average life span lasts less than 30,000 days.
we sleep a third of that time, so the days we experience number less than 20,000. we may try, but we can't ever completely deny our mortality.

Great comments, choosing!
So, it really is all about perception. One cannot exclude the possibility of life after death. Even in this world there exist frequencies that we cannot hear and we see only a limited spectrum of light. The possibilities for growth are limitless and we view the universe from such a tiny perspective. Physical bodies die, but is that all we are?
The physical world and our own physical bodies create an incredible realm where good and evil can be understood and chosen/rejected. I can't think of any other kind of universe that allows this realm, where we can think and act so freely. The physical world is like the setting, and the spiritual dimension is like the diamond.

144,000 Pebbles
by jgnat ini'm marking my jw hubby's study yet again, and i just have to vent.
144,000 white pebbles?
the wtbts again jams revelation 14:1, like a bad puzzle piece, in to every promise that came out of the mouth of god.

the name on the pebble "is a means of identifying a person and distinguishing that one from others."
Well you know, it's going to be pretty hard to tell everyone apart up there if they are all wearing the same outfit and accessories---> It might be a little tough to read the pebbles, esp from a distance, but at least they will not be rocks... I wonder now if they will get pebble name badges (pin on sort, or adhesive), or will they have a pocket in their robe to pull it out from, like a business card? These guys seem doomed to carry those things forever. Maybe they could get a purse...

i can not get a grip on the whole "no longer a JW" annoucements...
by ?me? inthe whole thing seems wrong.
ok not withstanding a long heated disfellowshipping thread, how can they say you are no longer a jw?.
jehovah always sees you as a witness of his, maybe a bad witness, or a sinful one, but one nonetheless.. was david not a servant of jehovahs when he made mistakes, or peter when he coward?

I loved what heathen wrote. Spot on!
Perhaps you might consider a slight change in perspective about being a witness for Jehovah...
Acts 1:8 "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."
The new covenant has a detail the WTS utterly ignores. The early Christians were called followers of Christ, the image of the invisible God (see Ephesians). The WTS teaches its followers to force the new wine only into old wineskins (OT laws, not grace). That structure can't hold the new; the new is stronger.
