Hi Friends
I have some questions for all who are fading.
When you move to another congregation, do you attend some meetings in the new congregation?
Do the brothers and sisters in the new congregation know you? Do they come and ask you out for field service?
Or do you move and not attend any meetings?
Do your friends in the old congregation know, that you maybe don't attend the meetings in the new congregation?
Looking forward to your experiences.
Warm greetings
Daniel

When I decided to no longer turn in time...
by SG098 inbeing my 1st post i figured i should relate a personal experience.
a few months ago i decided to stop reporting time.
i'm mentally out of this cult now but still trapped because of family.

Now I listened to it.
You did a great job. You reasoned very well.
And you did a great video.
Now never give them a report anymore. Now they know why and they can do nothing about it.

How Would Your Being Disfellowshipped Affect You?
by minimus inwould you care?.
would there be any repercussions?.

The elders are still debating if they want to view me as disassociated or not.
I'd lose all my witness friends.
My parents who are JWs more than 50 years wouldn't shun me as they themselves think shunning is wrong. But it would make life more difficult. Like would they sleep over at my place when they visit me and my son? What if other witnesses observe it?
I am not sure if on the long run it would be better for my little boy if I am officially df / da?
I am starting now to make new friendships with non JW. I already have some developing which is precious to me.

Hi
Welcome dear friend.
We are in similar situations. I had a lot of such back room discussions with loyalty questions if the fds is god's channel (they are still dealing with my answer to that one).
We are both of similar age and both have a hardcore jw wife. The difference is that mine separated because she was so shocked and thinks I am bad company that I wouldn't let my son and myself bleed to death in a life and death situation.
I wish you good luck and all the best, especially in dealing with your family.

Children Shunning DF'd Parent
by juliew inso the watchtower says they don't teach children to shun their df'd parents if they are not living in the home per their custody packet.. so what happens once they turn 18 and are no longer legally bound to court orders for visitation?.
does anyone have any experience with this.
did your child begin shunning you once they turned 18. curious how to disucss this topic with your kid before it gets to that point..

My child is 20 months old living with his mum (seperated). I see him every 2 weeks for 2 days.
I will use all of my energy never to allow our contact to break. I am determined not to speak condemingly about WT but to train his thinking faculties that one day he will make his own decisions, critically thinking and hopefully realizing the truth about WT.

I reasoned with the elders like that.
They said. Jesus did not break the Sabbath law, just the Pharisees interpretation of it.

One of them smiled at me!! Update on shunning.
by quellycatface inyep, it's true!!
it must have near damn killed her.
it was a kind of smile that never reached the eyes and you could see the strain in it.

A lot of JW don't agree with the shunning policy. But they don't have the courage to critizise it or ignore it.
So the least they do is look at you and smile.

need advice
by search4truth inmy spouse felt a need to tell to elders about me reading apostate websites and speaking against wt stuff , so they'll probably try to readjust my apostate thinking any time soon.
my spuse never see me reading anything but, during our arguments i did't keep my mouth shut and she knows that i had to read it somwhere and it wasn't jw.org.
could this get my in the trouble if my spose is the only witness and never spoke to another person about this stuff ?

No, don't mention jwfacts or any other apostate website.
If you get labelled as an apostate by your wife or elders they will never consider seriously what you say.
Because apostate are just evil.

Hi searchfortruth
Can you tell your wife or elders that you got these informations that made you start to doubt on Wikipedia? On Wikipedia are also a lot of critical information concerning WT and Wikipedia is not considered an apostate site.
Only if you can't hide it anymore tell your wife that you found some information on jwfacts that is troubling you about xxx (maybe you know a matter which your wife has doubts too).
When you talk to elders or your wife, try to use questions like. "Honey, I just don't get it why we have to refuse white blood cells because a baby drinks a lot of them in mother's milk.
By the way. Human Rights Art. 19 says:
Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression, this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference, and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.
