It seems to me you have issues about control. With that said, it makes sense to at least postpone the wedding until you're both clear with each other's feelings and beliefs. I learned long ago I can't control others.

Imperfection
by lfcviking inhow many times have you heard incidents involving members particularly ministerial servants or elders not behaving as they should and upsetting others?.
how many times have you heard of change of watchtower doctrines, beliefs & practices, incorrect dates of the supposed happening of armaggedon?.
how many times have you heard of cases of paedophillia being 'hushed' & brushed under the carpet in an attempt to keep the watchtowers name squeaky clean and keeping the guilty party from recieving the rightful due punishment?.

I became FED UP with Hearing my ex-Husband making excuses for wrongdoing by elders saying "They are Imperfect Men"

What the C.O. said right there on the Platform
by Uncertain inhe started his talk before rev.bookstudy with all the gloom and doom news and then dropped the (to me) bombshell that he reads the news on line.
yup, i could hear an intake of breath through the hall.
i can't for the life of me remember what the rest of his talk was, although he used a box of crayolas as a prop.

There was a very likable elder in my congregation years ago similar to the guy you describe. He wasn't like the others; he was creative and actually entertaining. Actually Lovable.
Today he has his own website "Towerwatch"

Wow! I had one JW friend who stayed close to me after I was disfellowshipped. After I divorced my JW Husband, we lost touch. I miss her dearly. Oftentimes, I think threads such as yours are prompting me to make contact with her again. Mary S, of Utica Ohio, if you're out here, just know I still love you dearly.

How to stump someone that believes the noah's flood happened.
by 5go inone of the key peices of evidence that people sight to try to prove the flood happen is the fact the most cultures have a flood myth or story as they put it.. i was just watching a program that also points out the most, if not all cultures believe in dragons.
even cultures that evolve in isolation have beliefs in dragons and they are all simular though not the same.
just like the flood myth.. so if they believe the flood happened because so many cultures have flood stories.

I didn't know other cultures believed in Dragons. Do you think the "Dragons" might have been Dinosauers?

Sharpton and Jackson at it again - Jenna 6 - bidness as usual
by BizzyBee inthese two opportunists (there is no other word) have set race relations in the us back 100 years.
if only they had teamed up to encourage and facilitate education and job opportunities for their constituents as vigorously as they have advocated on behalf of casual and career criminals - we'd have a better outcome for all concerned.

I especially can't stand people who use Religion to make themselves appear Holy. I worked for a Law firm when I was still in high school and hand an opportunity to speak with Jessie Jackson. He emphasized the title "REVERAND" when he introduced himself. I always called him "MR. Jackson" Even then, I knew he was a fake.
