one of the 'problems' i had before blackguard deprogrammed me was i could not reconcile the actions of the j-dud masters with a loving god.
i felt if god was with these people i did not want to live in any new system under this power structure.

when my son in law would talk about growing up a "dub"..he told me that they have their own certain words and phrases that they use.
i was like get outta town, he said oh yes you would be "bad association"..and i would have never had anything to do with you except try to preach the "good news" to ya.. thru the years when the "jo hoes" (as he calls them now) would knock on my door i would just tell them i was catholic and slam the door...never thinking that they thought i was part of "babylon the great harlot" or whatever they call it.

Thru the years when the "Jo Hoes" (as he calls them now) would knock on my door I would just tell them I was Catholic and slam the door...Never thinking that they thought I was part of "Babylon the Great Harlot" or whatever they call it. (Oh my god) lol. Next time they knock on the door I might engage them in some false prophacy or maybe the "Shunning" and how ridiculous and sad it all is. All I can say is I'm soooo happy you all got out, are in the process of getting out, and I totally understand staying in to keep your families intact. That right there is the saddest situation of them all.

After lurking on this forum for months and reading so many stories, I have laughed with you all, cried with all, and learned more than I ever thought about such a hate based cult. My SIL did not go thru anything as bad as some of you here but he missed so much of his childhood. No firends outside the hall, no holidays, and no sports( Big New England Patriots fans here), No nothing. His mom has much guilt about it to this day.
Big Tex-Chaos is my puppies name lol, so thus I am Chaosmama.

I'll tell ya the more he told me the more I could not believe, I mean this kid misses his father and brother soooo bad sometimes. On the upside tho, he enjoys celebrating holidays and birthdays, he had is first B-day when he was 16. His father sould be proud of his son. He has a great job and alot going for him and he treats my daughter like gold.
yessiree...i had an afternoon off last friday.
so i decided to venture down to the toronto humane society.
i was so surprised at the variety of animals: dogs, cats, rabbits, guinea pigs, ferrets, rats, mice and birds.
Congrats on your new family member Razor. We have an 8 year old African Grey Parrot, What a riot he is. Never shuts up lol..Talks as well as you and me.
Beryl, We have also rescued a miniature long hair Dachshund, he is such a joy and a wonderful addition to our family. I feel for ya having to put your companion down tho, I have had to do this twice in my life and it never gets easier.

First off, I have been lurking for about six months. How I came to this site is (and bear with me please). My future son in law was born and raised a JW. I had never really heard that much about them except for the door to door stuff. Well as I got to know this young man,(he is 23)He would tell us stories about his growing up and how horrible it was for a child in that religion. His mother left the JW when he was 16, he left with her YAHOO. They are shunned by his brother and wife and his father will have nothing to do with him. This I just cannot believe, I mean I could not fathom this at all. I was compelled to research the JW on the internet and I just cannot tell you how awful I feel for all those effected by such an UNLOVING CULT. My SIL is such a fine young man for 23 and I am proud that my daughter found somebody so caring. It is just sooo side that his family can't see that. He is so happy to be "outta there" as he says.
I am sorry my first post is so long, I just finally wanted to tell my story and to let you know I almost feel like i know all of you and I hope to get to know you all more. Thanks for being here.
