New duds for the Assembly/Convention
by gcc2k inmy wife seems to break out new outfits for her and the kids at these events.
i get the idea when someone is single (sisters are "fellowshopping" - always loved that term).
old habits die hard, perhaps?

managing a mixed marriage - is it possible?
by gcc2k ini think one of the major obstacles i see in remaining in my marriage is how to manage the fact that my wife is "in" and i'm not.
i am a fader, not da or dfd (i've wanted to da for a long time but haven't, and haven't been dfd yet).
my wife is devout but not fanatic.

Is recovery possible?
by gcc2k inhi guys.
i haven't posted here in a year or so, perhaps more.
i'm not sure what i want to say, and i'm not sure that i want to put it down, since the more info you give here, the easier it is to be spotted.

are JW's beliefs truly unique?
by gcc2k ini'm sure someone has researched this, and if so perhaps you would save me some time.. a common jw reply when he/she is presented with problems that would seem to indicate that this cannot be "god's organization" is for him/her to say "but where else will i go?
who else has the truth?".
so, given a list of beliefs that are cornerstones of the "truth", what other religions share them?

Naive financial questions
by gcc2k inthis is a sort-of-followup to my previous thread on "wt as sally mae" and the kh remodeling thread.. we all know that the wt must have a lot of money.
my big issue is, where does the money go, and whom does it benefit?.
so, my naive questions:.

Show me the money (WT as Fannie Mae?)
by gcc2k ini posted this on the "remodeling the kh" thread and did not get the desired feedback.. when everyone is done picking on me over in the cbs/silentlambs thread, maybe you can turn your attention to the following questions.. .
1) if the society still charges interest on the loans to the congregations, how does the society justify this, since it is clearly unscriptural?
surely there has been a "questions from our readers" about this?

Newbie question about the NGO story
by gcc2k ini've seen the reproductions of evidence in the ngo story.. let's say i was to discuss this matter with a local friendly elder.
i imagine that the following criticisms would ensue:.
1) that is not a real letter sent by the society (saying it was just for a library card, or as the version from portugal said, to gain favor in certain nations).. 2) the reply from the librarian at the un saying that becoming an ngo is not a requirement for a library pass is not real.. my main concern is with the latter.
