I don't think you should be watching Lost, Scully. As head of my household, I am forbidding Blondie from watching that show .

Name better ways to attract new people at the Kingdom Hall?
by JH in1) build a hall in the center of the city, not far away like they usually do.. 2) make it 1 hour meetings.
3) dress clean, that's all.
4) beards or no beards, that's not important, it's what's in your heart that counts.. .

I finally did it!!
by Irreverent ini volunteered and gave blood for the first time this past tuesday.
my heart condition has improved to the point that my doctor okayed my donating blood.
i am kind of a wuss when it comes to shots and needles; but being in a hospital in intensive care gets you over that.

MIN They gave me some juice and some water to drink and I ate some crackers with cheese spread on them. Also got to enjoy the view of the painting at the top of the rotunda.

I volunteered and gave blood for the first time this past Tuesday. My heart condition has improved to the point that my doctor okayed my donating blood. I am kind of a wuss when it comes to shots and needles; but being in a hospital in intensive care gets you over that. Since it was my first time; the process of getting put into the computer system added a little more time to the procedure. The actual giving of the blood took only 7 minutes and it didn't hurt one bit. I have had blood drawn for tests in the hospital that hurt more. I am so glad to be able to donate blood and help someone in a medical need. It is a satisfying feeling. I am thankful for my health and appreciate it everyday and am thankful that I could give of myself in this way.

Had the procedure a few weeks ago. Not eating the day before and drinking the 3 liters of fluid the hardest part. Took about 45 minutes to clean everything out once it took effect. Don't remember a thing about the procedure. A clean bill of health for ten years. It will be fine.

Just to clarify, I will be rooting for the Cardinals and I thought that the orginal premise of this thread was whether you agreed that it would be a Cardinal-Tigers series. Logic tells me Tigers in 6. My fan reaction is Cardinals in 7. Go Cardinals!!!

Voting with their wallet
by SirNose586 inwhen i came here in may, i began to see phrases like "voting with their wallets" or "voting with their feet" in regards to declining contributions and declining attendance figures.
i think i am seeing the former in action..... last sunday i went to the local ca.
at the half they read the accounts report--aka, cough up that dough report--and there was a "$4,000 deficit.

I alway liked the arrangement where elders would "anonymously" walk up the the CO or DO after the elder's meeting and hand them envelopes of money. All "anonymously" of course.
