On the whole, belief in any religion declines roughly 20% every 10 years. I can see why now!

by suavojr inafter reading coc and isocf i cried, i was in shock, disillusioned, angry, and afraid... anyone wants to share their experience?.
i would like to see what you think about these questions when compared with your account.. why people from different backgrounds feel similar reactions?
(cannot be a conpiracy).

the bizarre things religious people say and believe
by Hortensia ini sat in the community garden tonight and talked with one of my neighbors, an old lady in an electric wheelchair.
she was telling me she won't be able to garden next year, it's getting to hard for her since her stroke.
so we talked about her stroke.

Talking in toungues really got me!! Here was this group of people babbling like a bunch of psycho wacko whatevers, not understanding a word they were saying and encouraging me to do the same for proof that I was full of the holy spirit. I was told that this was a special language that only god understood and that using this language would ensure that the devil didn't interfere with the answering of the prayer. I was told that the longer I spent doing this the better off I would be. Some of the babblers claimed to spend countless hours everyday doing this in a closet. In hindsight, this is more like what a crack addict does than someone influencing the powers that be.

Personality Disorders Attracted to JWism
by skeeter1 inare there personality disorders that find the watchtower an appealing fit?
i have read it before that people with personality issues are attracted to extreme religions, and that extreme religions can make a "normal" person mentallly ill. .
to start off with, i was reading about obsessive-compulsive disorders and this "profile" seemed like the "normal" jws i know:.

It is true that certain personalities fit better than others. I was told when I first began studying and asking questions that "Not everyone is cut out to be a witness". I was raised in another religion that, to me, was rigid so I possessed the "peculiarities" that fit from the get go. It was only a few years and a million questions later that I found out TTATT. I also found out that the original bible students were not allowed to laugh during any of their gatherings. I could easily understand no sex or roughhousing....but no laughter!!!.WTH

Very early in my publishing career I took a new recruit to meet with the brothers because she had requested to do so. They took their time giving an overall picture of the organization putting great emphasis on the joy people experience, especially those assigned to Bethel. After listening intently to these brothers the new recruit, staring wide eyed, asked in a very sincere tone, "How do I get asigned to this BROTHEL?"

Another non-JW reacts to Sparlock video
by cedars inhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-ssv2nh0rc.
and two weeks ago i highlighted another video where sparlock helped an ex-mormon.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmesmlhydru.
though it still depresses me to think of all the young ones (including my own relatives) falling under the influence of this dangerous piece of propaganda, it's at least some small comfort that the sparlock video is backfiring so dramatically among thinking non-jws.. .

There are other places to mingle.
At the end of the day it is not our beliefs that define our character, only our actions. Find people whose actons line up with your beliefs.....you might just find more than a fewof these people exist outside the religious realm.

My Story So far
by ILoveTTATT ini hope i have not fully screwed up, it seems like my friends whom i have told my true feelings realy, really, deep down inside, love me, and that's why they have not gone to the elders.
also probably because they know that i love them and would never tell them something if i wasn't 100% convinced and knew that it wasn't true.. .
i guess i can tell you a bit of my story so you can help:.

Welcome to the Eitherworld. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is.....TO BE CAREFUL. Being a double agent requires skill on every level. Before emplimenting any tactics on your own, no matter how non-threatening it may seem, run your idea past several members of this site and refine your approach. Intoducing too many critical thinking questions in too short a period of time can arrouse suspicion. Best of wishes.

If my memory seves me correctly the explaination goes something like this;
Old Rules.....Prior to (a specific date) anyone could access the UN Library for whatever reason. New Rules..... Beginning (a specific date) in order to access the UN Library you had to register as a member.
Explaination or Excuse? You decide.
