Hey, Francois, I've been to Richmond Hill! In fact, I spend a lot of time in Savannah on business. I'm over two facilities - one in NC and one in Savannah - you probably have heard of the company. We're in the process of closing the Georgia plant, though, so my travels will only last for another few months. Small world, huh?

The Letter from my Mom to my new wife.
by CraigSA inthis is the letter my mother wrote to my wife.
who does she think she is?dear leanne, thank you once more for the photos; we are building up quite a collection!i was so sorry to hear that the children are ill- this is a bad time of the year for sicknesses.
you must be quite worried, especially if kevin has pneumonia, which can be very nasty.

The letter is almost verbatim to the way my mother-in-law described to me why she was shunning my husband (her son) when he was disfellowshipped. I wonder if they just "cut and paste" this from somewhere?

I'm so sorry for what you're going through. I've never been a JW, but my husband has gone back since we were married and my marriage is falling apart right now. It is sad to see something so wonderful disappear before your eyes at the hands of a group of people. I'm thinking of you . . . .

A question for Sword of Jah
by AwakenedAndFree indear sword of jah, .
please explain to me this watchtower doctrine, which still stands today as a revealed truth from the faithful and discreet slave class revealed in 1935 still taught today: .
judge rutherford, representing the watchtower society announced in 1935 in a convention that the doors to heaven were shut down in 1935, and the gathering of the annointed class was accomplished in 1935. .

"I understand your viewpoint but you have to learn when to talk and when to be quiet. Talk when Jehovah gives you the authority to talk, that will be when you become an elder."
When to talk = when they tell you to
When to be quiet = any other time
All you former elders out there, did you honestly feel that Jehovah had given you the authority to talk? And by talk, I mean to express your feelings on a particular subject???

If you die, you will not be allowed to marry in the new world....(?)
by FreeofGuilt inwell, lets just say this was one of my major hangups when i was w/ the jws.. to think that the one you loved, & were married to, or if you were single never married before, & then making it to the new world not being able to marry again was such a horrifying concept..!
i remember some pics being changed on the front pages of literature, or illustrations being changed inside of literature where once there were a wife & children meeting their father/husband in the graveyard after resurrection, & then they took the illustrations away, with maybe a whole family just welcoming back one of their children from the grave.
well, i asked my mom over & over about this teaching, & she told me to ask the brothers... the brothers said that i would just have to have faith that things would workout in the resurrection, or that the society would get new light about the subject, but that i should never question the faithful & discreet slave.

I agree with you, Freedom96... That fishing and toiling the earth may be great for the first ten million years or so, but after that I think I would lose interest.

I went home for lunch today and my copy was in the mail. I can't wait to get home this evening and start reading. I have the feeling it's gonna be a late night. (The book is much larger than I expected, by the way!)

I love to read SOJ's responses. As I am an "unbeliever" married to a JW, his posts give me an idea of just how my husband will respond to a particular topic. It is invaluable to me to know how he has been programmed, since I have never gone through the indoctrination process myself. Keep posting, SOJ!!!!! You are helping me win my husband back from your cult!
