I don't see anything wrong with the restrictions. They are a nusiance. What happens when they decide to witness 24/7? The line has to be drawn somewhere.

My heart is breaking...
by Billygoat in...for my friend.
she is 32, incredibly intelligent, holds a masters degree, is a teacher at a local high school where the kids adore her, a fantastic wit...and she's drop-dead gorgeous.
for those of you at my wedding, she was the bridesmaid with the naturally curly auburn-hair down to her waist.

Oh, I feel so bad for your friend. I had one in the same predicament, and really, Billygoat, there is nothing you can do. I know it sounds silly, but time takes care of things like this. Although, I do like the idea of vandalizing the guys house...
She is so fortunate to have a caring friend like you. Take her out to a comedy club, buy her a couple of tequila shots, help her forget her troubles. She WILL find the perfect someone, and eventually she will be glad to be rid of that sorry, two-timing bastard . . .

Just Another Issue
by MrMoe ini know right now you are sitting behind a computer, so you would be considered (at least by me and millions of others world over) to be... well... lucky.
here is where you react with your personal problems which are rather petty (sorry not trying to be rude here) life situations that amount to a hill of beans, barring extreme life circumstances, compared to say, that one guy who wears rags and talks to himself on the corner of main and broadway.
huh?

Ever been to Washington DC? There are more homeless there than anywhere I have visited, and I am pretty well-traveled. Some of them I feel sorry for, but some are just downright mean. I visit there frequently for the museums, etc. and I swear there are many that I recognize as always pan-handling in the same exact spot every time I see them. You have to wonder if they aren't just a special kind of entrepreneur preying on the people who take pity on them. In fact, the last time I was in DC, I gave a guy $1.00 and he screamed at me, "Hey, you white b*tch, I know you got more than that!!!" I really just don't know how to feel . . . I want to be compassionate, but people like that make it so hard!!!

Drinking leads to psoriasis of the liver....
by CaptainSchmideo in.
or that's what the speaker at the st louis assembly kept saying, when he meant to say cirrhosis.. sometimes, you just have to look at the little things for the entertainment value.... .

I can't believe how uneducated and poorly-spoken some of the speakers I have heard have been . . . and I have only been to a few meetings. The last one, the speaker kept saying, "Worldly people - you caint' tell em nuttin" and "We know we got da troof." LMAO. I guess that philosophy about a Watchtower education equalling a college degree leaves some room for debate . . .

Thank you (referring to previous message)
by Juliana ini am very inexperienced with message boards, so had to start a new branch of conversation, not knowing how to reply within the same one ... if that makes any sense.
i thank everyone for their offers of private discussions, and i would certainly be grateful to have people to talk to ... the thing is, i haven't yet worked out how to do this!.
your advice was really invaluable.

Oh, Juliana, I envy the lease on life you have been given. If only I had found this board before my marriage, I would have spared myself so much heartache...

Hey, Sheila, I use "I'm Not Really A Waitress" too! Also "K'mon Over Here" for a summery shade. I love OPI!
As for pantyhose, I couldn't tell you the last time I wore a pair - I go to the tanning bed pretty regularly, though, and get pedicures too. I went with my husband to the Kingdom Hall a few months ago and noticed a few stares. . . I guess that's taboo.
