They don't believe in hell because it's a nice pitch to get new recruits/converts/magazine salesmen.

Should "Merry Christmas" Be Replaced With "Happy Holidays"?
by Kenneson init seems that some think that "happy holidays" is more politically correct than "merry christmas.
" they take offense to the word christ in christmas and want to replace it.
personally, i think we should keep the words.

We say "Merry Christmas" because the holiday is called "Christmas." The days surrounding the holiday are called "Christmastime." Get it?
Amen. Why should those of us who celebrate Christmas change what we call it for the sake of those who don't want to celebrate it. Should we stop singing the National Anthem at ballgames because a few Jehovah's Witnesses are offended? Hell no. Let 'em stay home.

I have a really funny story to share. I'm not suggesting anyone try this, but it is hilarious!
One of the girls who works for me in the office got a call last week from her husband saying he had to go down to the police station with his Mom. It seems that Mom had come home from getting her hair done and noticed a bicycle in the back hard of her house. So, she walked around to the back and there were these two teenaged boys (16 & 17) coming out of her back patio door with a couple of sacks full of goodies (real-life grinches!!) One of them was even holding a pistol that "Mom" kept on her bedside table. Since she knew it was unloaded, but figures they didn't, she stopped the boys at the bottom of the deck, startling them, and grabbed the pistol from the one kid's hand. She proceeded to hold them at gunpoint and back them across the yard to her neighbor's house, then yelled for her neighbor to call 9-1-1. The operator for 9-1-1 got a little upset when she overheard "Mom" saying to the boys, "I should put this gun down and whip your little a$$es."
I'll bet it will be awhile before these boys rob anyone else!!

Worldlygirl chiming in here. It was definitely the "forbidden fruit" thing in my situation. I represented everything that he could never have as a JW. He was DF'd when I met him, for divorcing his first wife who was a good JW (and a little on the wacko side.) I think it was just like with any other high-control religion, people get in deep and just can't maintain the standard, so eventually they figure "what the hell, I'm never going to be able to live up to this anyway, so I might as well have some fun." Unfortunately, the teachings were so ingrained in him from birth, it was inevitable that he would return. I should have known it, and he should have known it too. He was lying to both of us.

I agree. My wacky, JW ex-mother-in-law actually told me that she used to "massage" away her son's asthma attacks rather than allowing him to use an inhaler. He ended up in the hospital nearly dead once.

Dec.03 KM - Evidence of a Fake Ministry?
by metatron ini have often asserted on this forum that the published totals for publishers and hours.
are not to be believed.
first, because i'm a fake publisher ( like many) and second, because.
-

I think they do want to keep the pressure on to keep individual publisher's hours up. Think about it... if you are guilted into reporting the hours, wouldn't you also be guilted into donating $$ to cover the cost of all those magazines you threw in the garbage and reported as placements?

JWs and breach of private employer info
by journalist ini'm a journalist working on a story about jws who have released to the watchtower society confidential information acquired from their employers about fellow members.
this could be medical information or any other private information that an employee believed revealed sinful behavior and had to be reported.
the story will look at the employer's exposure in such instances and how to guard against it.

Also, she knew personally that the sister was single, thus raising the possibility of fornication.
