I was in the airport yesterday when I heard this report on CNN Headline News! It was such a good feeling to look around and know that hundreds and hundreds of travelers were sitting there hearing the same account in that one airport - not to mention all the other people who were "tuned in". Hooray!

Moral absolutes
by Aztec ini keep saying i am going to start a thread on this topic so here goes.... what, if anything, is always morally wrong?
murder, rape, incest?
how much do you think your belief, or lack thereof, in a higher power influences your opinion?.

I agree with unique1. Under what circumstances would the forcible rape of a small child by an adult be morally acceptable?

I am sure many JW's will say prayers for him and his family and forget all about the others injured and the family members of those killed, including the infant who passed this morning bringing the total to 10.
So true...

Oh my God . . . first the runaway car at the convention a couple of months ago, and now Brother Kavelin in Santa Monica. Pretty soon they will realize that Satan and His Demons (tm) are possessing automobiles in an attempt to destroy Jehovah's People! Seriously, after the convention incident, my mother-in-law said "Satan is really having a heyday with the Friends." Get ready for bicycle groups in field service!

all sex and nothing to show for it!!!!!!!!!!
by petespal2002 inreading the thred on vasectomy got me musing; if we were put on earth to populate it, and given sex organs purely for this purpose, what about all the jw's who 'sacrifice' having a family so they can 'do more' in the service.
would it not be improper to use your sex organs purely for pleasure, or do they give up having sex as well?

he prays with his wife before and after.....????
Eewwwwww...
what does one pray about?
Before: Please don't let her have a headache, please let me get a hard-on, please let the society change the no-oral-sex rule, please let it be a little more exciting this time...
After: Thanks, anyway.

That's right Viv - - sex is the marital "due" and they way they describe it, it is just a tool to keep your mate faithful. The "Secret to Family Happiness Book" on page 158 says the following:
If a wife willfully deprives her husband or a husband deliberately fails to render the marriage due in a loving way, the partner may be left open to temptation.
No, in their opinion, sex is not for procreation only, nor is it for fun. It is simply a tool, just like all the other rules they have, to control people.

Do JW couples really have better relationships?
by Latin assassin from Manhattan inare jw marriages any better than the ones 'in the world' as they put it?
when they walk from door to door or mingle after a meeting they appear to be models of ideal marriages.
do you have any experiences with married couples in the 'truth'?

My husband and his first wife were both active JW's. She is a complete wacko. You should hear some of the stories he and their kids tell me about her throwing dishes, hysterically screaming at him, etc. Yet to the outside they were the model couple, going door-to-door, keeping up appearances. After 20 years he had enough, but by then people had begun to see through the charade.

My Mother the Classic ETERNAL Witness
by unique1 inher ever loving text and comment sent to me every morning, included the following this morning.
it is just so ignorant that i almost can't stand it.
obviously it is a subliminal message about my non-attendance of meetings, but i had to vent and share because she really just pisses me off.. look out: perhaps there may be someone who will carry you off as his prey .

...and the moral of the story is "Bad people go to college and Jehovah will kill them even if we can't figure out a way to get rid of them on a technicality."

She's probably married to an "unbeliever" who is getting screwed like I am. He works his ass off to make enough money for her "field service" vehicle, she tells everyone at the Kingdom Hall it was his idea. Worldly mates are the ultimate scapegoat.

Telephone witnessing is the big trend now.
Will they have to abide by the same rules as the telemarketers in regards to the national "do not call" registry?
