  Unconditional Love...No Carrot

  a question that has bothered me, even when pioneering and the strongest of witnesses is, why do people serve god in order to receive something in return?.

  the bible says to love god with your whole heart, mind and soul.

  if you take away the carrot of the new system, how many witnesses would go from door to door, study, meditate, attend meetings and assemblies or even show an interest?.

  I dont like carrots. Thats why I didnt stay a JW. Now if they dangled a golden cat then I would have joined. But not a solid gold cat. A golden roasted cat.

  is steven lett , a recent gb appointee, from alabama?

  is his dad the late mark lett, the alabama exterminator (really , he was the biggest indpendent bug killer in al at one time) who got in the circuit work after serving the w ark areas as a pioneer during the late 60's-early 70's.. is he the same steven lett who served as co in s il back in the 80's?

  just curious- i ate dinner with him in his dads little spartan trailer back around 1970. if he is the gb guy then i've had the honor of eating with both him and don adams, the newest prez (you all may approach and touch the hem of my garment).

  Does it really matter?

  if you belong to a religion because your family & friends are there, you try to be a good person, you enjoy the activities you are involved in, but deep down you really believe that there is not only one true religion, does it really matter if you remain in the religion of your family and friends?

  realistically speaking, what's the harm?

  We got kittens !!

  since our old cat died a few weeks before we moved house, liam has not stopped asking about it and telling us how much he'd like a cat.. i've just been out an got two 7 week old kittens... mainly white with tortoishell markings... they are adorable (i had to use all my manly tough powers to resist bringing all 5 home).

  the kids love them but i'm going to be very strict making sure they don't play with them... until i've finished

  this is a short article from breakpoint and i think that the writer explains the christian view on recent events.

  i hope it reaches those who need it.. this shows why christians are different though being capable of some rather nasty acts.

  New Peak!

  you will be happy to know that the board saw a new peak in registrants for the past month of 375, surpassing our last peak in june during aux pioneer season.

  special thanks to regular pioneer hawkaw who was no doubt responsible for much of the fine growth during the last month.

  more numbers regarding placements and studies for october will be forthcoming.
