Dusty - I'm totally with you. I've often thought about this and how they basically abuse and misguide people. I'd like to sue for missed life/career opportunities.

lets sue the watchtower!!
by dustyb ini wonder if a person could get away with suing the watchtower for stressful thinking and loss of life.
because if you think about it, it's illegal to tell people what to do (slavery), but they claim that everyone has the right mind and that they aren't telling anyone what to do.
i wonder if you could get it suggested by the courts that wts tries to control through written language in the watchtower magazine or somethin, iono.

Just the Circuit Overseer. He didn't like anyone who had a good paying job where there was any shiftwork involved, so he gave all the elders and ministerial servants a choice: either give up your job, or your position in the congregation. Some of the brothers said screw that, and they stepped down and kept their jobs. However, two elders gave up their $150,000/year job because "Jehovah has spoken", took jobs that paid less than half of that, but remained as elders. When the one elder got a $6,000 medical bill which his new company didn't cover (but which his old one would have), he complained to the dickhead CO who actually said "I never told you to quit your job. You decided that on your own."
Mary - grrrr stories like that make me froth!
In the Punta Gorda Florida congregation we had this lady with some serious issues. She was someone's study, and wouldn't follow a magazine but stare out at people and just laugh into the air for no reason. During the prayers she'd rock herself and her foot back and forth. She was such a freak.

K I S S
by RAYZORBLADE inya know.....when i was becoming a good little dubby back in the mid 1970s, these guys were well on their way to stardom.. honestly, i liked them, even then.
but i seldom listened to them while i was a full fledged brain dead witless.. kiss: knights in satans service - and all sorts of madness related to their acronym.. in 1977, i remember just as i started attending meetings, there was an assembly in moncton, new brunswick, canada.
the night before the assembly, kiss performed there.

cosmetic surgery!!!
by Debz inall these shows lately on telly - like nip/tuck etc.
highlighting cosmetic surgery got me to thinking of about 20 odd years ago as a dub..how prevalent cs was.
i knew two young women (aged about 17 / 18) who had breast reduction operations in the same cong, of course it was very `hush, hush` at the time but considering it was a small country cong - that seems like a rather high ratio of non-necessary surgery to me........any other experiences of this?

Uh, have you looked at most of those boob jobs? They never look perfect. They look rubbery, shiny and fake.
I disagree. I have seen several good boob jobs. The reason the breasts on Baywatch look shiny is because they are putting oil and makeup on them. Granted, there are those girls who get too large of implants, that look extremely fake.

Witness World Response to Apostates
by DevonMcBride inbelow is what was posted on witness world by polly pan.
i took euphemism's advice and others to protect my identity.
about a week ago it was brought to administrations attention that there may be apostates lurking on our board, as a precautionary measure we deleted 107 members who had never posted since they joined.

I don't know of any people who had cosmetic procedures in the KH's...however, I am a supporter of cosmetic surgery. If it makes someone feel better and more confident, do it! My mom had her breasts reduced. She was busting out of her DD bra at the time, had terrible backaches, and grooves in her shoulders from the weight of her ta ta's in her bra. She's so happy she did it!

Then I bought my son a very masculine necklace and my sister in law tried to tell me that brothers are not allowed to wear necklaces or other jewelry save a simple wedding band.
FlyingHighNow - This necklace nonsense reminds me of an issue one of the elder's wives had with a beautiful gold necklace my mother wore, that my father gave her on their wedding anniversary. It was a charm with a man and woman on their knees looking into each others eyes inside of a heart. One stupid bitch of an elders wife told her husband my mom was wearing a pornographic necklace of people having sex...My mom told this elder, that last time she checked she was never able to have sex with her legs together, on her knees...The elder ended up blushing, and my mom wanted to confront the bitch who said something...he ended cowering away, cause it was his wife!
