An Elder...very close to me...said the same exact thing. In fact he went further and said that he believes all genuinely good hearted people would be saved.
That was one of MANY eye openers for me......

I really don't fault anyone for going back. Most do it solely because it's all they know or knew. You will not see "converts" to the JW's leave and go back, only ones born in, or parents that converted while the kids were young. When it's all you know......the real world could be scary! Remember what we told about the world, SBF even said it, there is NOTHING outside of the "truth". When you are controled by a cult, escape can at best be scary, at worst impossible. For example, when a man is in prison for decades and released, how many of them re-offend, ON PURPOSE, just for the reason of going back to the only life they know, behind bars? There is no difference. I wish him well and hopes he finds the peace he's looking for.

Remember..........they are master manipulators. For example, like I said in a post last-night......if Catholics have a change in policy or beliefs, it's PROOF they don't have God's backing.....FALSE PROPHETS!! The "Society" has a change in policy or beliefs, it's proof they DO have God's backing....Nu Light!!! Then the fall back is, we don't have God's full "truth", we are still learning and we are the ONLY ones that are.........the light gets brighter. They really do all the bases covered.

Ya...I used to think like that too. We are the only ones with the answers...the only ones with "the truth." Catholics have a change in policy or beliefs, it's PROOF they don't have God's backing.....FALSE PROPHETS!! The "Society" has a change in policy or beliefs, it's proof they DO have God's backing....Nu Light!!! All my friends, myself included....were driven by works........all about LOOK AT ME! My friends are now all Elders and moving up the Society chain....and they still make fun of and belittle people they feel are beneath them.......I'm sadly guilty of that too. It felt good to be included in something that was bigger than us! BUT..........once you start digging.....searching for real answers......there is no turning back. So ya.....searching for the real truth has left me with "a poor outlook spiritually speaking."

What's funny is that he came up with the whole incorrect date of 607 BCE after he was pressured to step back from his pyramid claim of how he really came up with 1914:
"So, then, if we measure backward down the "First Ascending Passage" to its junction with the "Entrance Passage," we shall have a fixed date to mark upon the downward passage. This measure is 1542 inches, and indicates the year BC 1542, as the date at that point. Then measuring down the "Entrance Passage" from that point, to find the distance to the entrance of the "Pit," representing the great trouble and destruction with which this age is to close, when evil will be overthrown from power, we find it to be 3457 inches, symbolizing 3457 years from the above date, BC 1542. This calculation shows AD. 1915 as marking the beginning of the period of trouble; for 1542 years BC plus 1915 years AD. equals 3457 years. Thus the Pyramid witnesses that the close of 1914 will be the beginning of the time of trouble such as was not since there was a nation -- no, nor ever shall be afterward. And thus it will be noted that this "Witness" fully corroborates the' Bible testimony on this subject..." ( Charles Taze Russell, Thy Kingdom Come, Studies In The Scriptures, vol. 3, 1910 edition ).
The unknown or forgotten history was he was crazy about the occult and pyramids!!

Can You Be Disfellowshipped For Merely Repeating What Apostates Are Saying? Even If You Deny Belief In What Is Said?
by frankiespeakin insay a person wants to start making fellow jws think and open up their eyes so they decide to just repeat what they have read on some apostate site but deny any agreement with what read.
how many times do you think he could do it before being called into a committee, and eventually be disfellowshipped?.
how long could someone last playing that cat and mouse game walking on the edge repeating apostate criticism but denying agreement?.

Ultimately YES, here is a capture from the Elders book in the chapter regarding deciding whether or not judiciary committees:
They leave it vague........if it is intentional or not....doesn't really matter
