it's pretty sad when your family and friends don't even remember your birthday.
and for an ol guy who has been on this board since 2001 and no one here remembered either.
oh well maybe somethings are better forgotten.
Happy Happy Birthday, Oldflame!

i've been speaking to a few older ones that were baptized twice as jws .. if my memory is correct ,it was around the time that baptism figures took a steep rise.. could this be a major contributing factor for this rise?
were these ( baptisms ) added to the figures?.
If you can be rebaptised due to
she didn't feel mature enough at her original Baptism and wanted to 'do it properly'
My mom was re-baptized in the early 70's. ; She said it was because she wasn't mature enough to understand the first time, ; at 14 I think
Why can't you disassociate yourself for being baptised due to not feeling you were mature enough at your original Baptism?

Take your time. Breathe. Cry. Scream. Open your eyes. Cry some more.
When you need to talk, to vent come and talk with people here. Go out and look at the world and indeed see that it is not such a bad place.
Welcome to the 'new light'.

witness find it silly that catholics have statues or a crucifix, and that some will look at these while talking to jesus in prayer.. the bottom line is, althought you're a christian, you can't even pray to jesus or even say thank-you for anything to jesus.. imagine if an apostle would still be alive today, and although he talked to jesus when he was on earth, and all of a sudden after jesus's death, that apostle wouldn't be allowed to even talk to him in prayer, basically shunning him for the last 2000 years.. when jesus died 2000 years ago, did the apostles just shun him from that day like the jw's want us to do, by only praying jehovah?.
I try to come here a few times a week to see if there is any "new light". I guess my biggest fear is WTBTS is going to offer "koolaid" to my family; down to things i can use to gently increase their thoughts of how wrong everything is.
But I am confused with this one; they no longer say "in Jesus name we pray....." Prayers are only directly to "God"?
some thing just occurred to me.
i live in a city 500+ miles from my home town.
in a large metropolitan area.
I live in an area we had rather work door to door when i was growing up. Mostly rural country with an occassional group of houses. I have been here 14 years and have only seen them about 6 times.
"The time is drawing near."
i realize that randy watters is not the type of person to want to worry others, especially when it come to his own health.
and i also realize that randy might want to kick me in the backsides for posting this little message.
thats ok, i'll even buy him a new set of boots to kick me with, but for right now if we could take a few moments to send our prayers, thoughts, and perhaps ecards for randy's swift recovery, then i know that randy would certainly appreciate it .dear friends of randy, due to some complications from a pain medication randy was using during an attack of his crohn's disease last week, he became seriously dehydrated and was hospitalized this past thursday, april 13th.
My thoughts and prayers are with you.
