Did they have a new date for Armageddon?
And was anything brought out about staying away from DF’ed or Faded family & friends? Things have really been strange between my JW family and me these past couple of months. No phone calls (I live about 700 miles away from them) no emails, nothing. It was abruptly halted.
My mother did call last week (a typical conversation with her is literally a minimum of 2 hours) and told me about my cousin that died. I had to literally keep asking her questions to keep her on the phone for 20 minutes. She was very evasive, wouldn’t really talk about anything. My sister will not answer my emails. Nor my phone calls.
I was wondering if the assembly pushed the no association issue regarding DF’ed or faded family members. (I’m not D/F’ed – just faded)

Assembly fun....Final notes.
by integ ina couple of things i forgot to mention... -it would not be "wise" to have open bars at witness wedding receptions.. -dating non-witnesses like going to the morgue to find a mate.
(this was mentioned at the latest circuit assembly as well).. -there are "deplorable conditions" in christendom...not in jah's org.. -we reflect the glory of god by preaching.. -(this is a doosy, and an actual statement made by the speaker)..just as jesus was hated by the world, but was perfect, so too is jehovahs' organization.
(yes he actually said this).. -3:05 sat.

Top 10 Signs Your Religion Is Dying.
by SYN inyour leadership is a bit dodgy.
for starters, theyre all so close to deaths door that he has repeatedly asked them to stop loitering and just ring the bell.
theyre so old and wizened that they have a hearse on 24-hour standby.

Have you noticed that most of the people getting baptized these days at Conventions are children of people who're Dubs already? And that at more and more Conventions, they're not baptizing anyone at all?
This angers me to no end. My niece's and nephew were "pushed" into baptism. They were continuously being ask “when are you getting baptized?” Isn’t it about time you began to think about baptism?” “You know when Armageddon comes you need to be baptized.”
I remember after I was baptized a sister in the congregation said “this is the first day of your life” you were “born” TODAY.
My oldest niece has always emailed me and talked to me and occasionally called me. I haven’t heard from her in the past couple of months. My other 2 nieces’ occasionally email me and all of that has stopped in the past couple of months. They are all now baptized, kids – not even able to drive yet – being forced into a cult that they will never be able to get out of.
The only way JW’s will increase is to make kids feel GUILTY about not being baptized. Get them while they are young – before they can even think about thinking for themselves. DON’T THINK just get baptized. Then we got you and we can count you and “you can never leave”.
It makes me sick!!!!!! -

by Hope_ful ini have been "lurking" (my apologies to anyone who is irritated or offended by that) for some time now.

Welcome Hope_ful.
Don't let "Granny" scare your sons. You said that she has said "you are going to die if...", really honestly talk with your sons seperately about this. Ask them questions, when you are riding in the car or doing something together, playing a game or doing a puzzle or washing dishes (don't sit him down and say OK we are going to talk) mention what Granny said and ask him what he thinks about it or how he feels when he hears her. Don't automatically assume that you know what he is going to say, you may be very surprised. Don't answer for him, draw out his answers. Don't put words in his mouth like "well don't you think she really meant this...." LISTEN to his answers. Don't try to change his mind. Just let the conversation change and think through what his answers are.
Until my son was 11 or 12 he still went to every door and window to make sure they were locked before he went to bed because of the "boogieman" his (biological) dad told him about when he was 4 years old. -

Wed,
I was d/fed around 17 yrs.old. I was reinstated in about 6 - 9 months. (I was an elders daughter) After I was reinstated; I graduated and moved to the congeration next to ours.
I had been best friends with some of these people. My parents best friends with some of them as well. Our 2 congerations would have get-togethers with each other. We were one of those close knit congerations.
I was going to start over and become a "good little witness". My roommate and I had been to all the meetings, in service, etc... We did all the right things. Within weeks, not months, weeks; we were the talk of the congeration (both). We were drunks, partiers, hypocrites, liars..... you name it we had done it. And we had done none of those things. None. I had been d/f'ed and moved out. So I was bad association. Reinstatement................... what a joke. -

Another Df'ing/suicide...in memory of a dear friend...
by Ghost of Esmeralda inthings have calmed down again with my mother to the point where i found myself once again in her kitchen last night.
drinking too many cups of coffee as i always do at her house, i imagine if i were a smoker i'd have been lighting one cigarette after another instead.
it had been a pleasant enough evening, i sat there with my crocheting in my lap, something i always take with me to my mother's house so that if i get nervous or stressed out, my hands, and my mind, have something to do and somewhere to go.

Strange Memories..
by breal inabout 6 or 7 years ago after being df'd and shunned by family and friends for so many years.. i got to thinking that perhaps if i tried to get reinstated.
not entirely sure that i really wanted to or if it was simply an idea to do this and then just did a slow fade (if that is really possible) - then i would be able to be around my family and friends like old times again.
i even attended a few meetings in the new city i had moved to.

I did the reinstated act. But I couldn't follow thru. Shortly afterwards i moved a few miles away from my family and congeration. The "new" congeration "knew" that I had been D/F'ed but was reinstated; but I was still treated like I had the plague. I was never given a "2nd chance" (even tho i was an "elders daughter!)
Don't go back. Only heartache and pain is to look forward to.
