Welcome here, feel free to express yourself, everyone here is very supportive and understand where you're coming from.
Don't be ashamed for the way you feel, listen to your gut, it's usually right.
well today i realised it is all coming to an end.
ever since i was about 6 i have been attending meetings but for the past ?teen years have never been fully convinced of what i was being taught.
of course there are the talks which give you hope that you are doing the right thing but it only takes a few weeks for the feeling to wear off.

has anyone here listened to any judicial committee meetings and been very disappointed?
.
I think it's the knock out factor. I'm always up for hearing someone stand up to the elders, but the ones that I've listened to both sides are twisting sides. The last one I listened to, the accused was a total nutjob and one of the elders was plain nasty. I'm looking for one where the person stands up to the elders but gets that knock out punch, the thing they can't answer. It sounds like the 1914 thing sounded great and I would've paid to listen to that. Some of the transcripts are alright, the one with James Caputo is pretty interesting, but in general the ones you can listen to are pretty disappointing.
my wife left me 5 years ago when i left the jehovah's witnesses.
she got remarried saturday to one of "our" old jehovah's witness friends jay .
jay's wife, judy died 6 months ago of cancer.
I hope I'm speaking for everyone here when I say, after reading every single one of your bethel expiriences with anticipation of the next one, and now reading this expirience.... I will be first in line to get your autobiography should you choose to write one.

see if I could hear something like that in a Judicial Committee meeting that was taped I wouldn't be disappointed. I could listen to that all day, all the ones I listen to are kind of odd.

Jesus Christ, how can someone start dating the day after his wife dies. Really?
I guess that's a product of the witness culture that once someone is gone you completely forget about them and that's that. Like dropping your friends no matter how long you've known them once they're disfellowshipped. Great witness quality, horrible human quality.
april 14th of last year, i had to tell my mother that i was an apostate and had spent the last year working against the very organization that she had spent her life supporting.. april 14th of this year, i woke up next to my lovely girlfriend, went to the gym, came home, cooked a hearty brunch, then went to my little corner of the world- my piercing shop, where i got to talk to and interact with people who respected me for who i was and what i did.
i did manage to sneak a way a little early, and come home to once again wrap my arms around one of the coolest young women i've ever known.. they say the best revenge is living well.
and i say revenge "is sweet, but not fattening.".
Rock On!!!
Sounds like a descent life right now. A year has gone by so fast huh? Here's to the next good year.
the jw's will say that in jesus time, it was ok to have a beard because it was their custom back then, and today jw's should not have a beard because it's not our custom to have one today.. since the world is ever changing, it will continue changing, and beards might come back and be popular once more.. it's only a cheap excuse on their part, because they will never accept beards, even if every man wore one today..
I don't know about the beard thing and even the women in business suits with pants. I think it may be a generational thing. I think if the GB gets some younger brothers in there things might change a bit. Personally I grew up away from the whole "hippie" thing, so if some guy has a beard I do think sometimes he looks distinguished or whatever. If a woman is wearing a pants-suit I think she is knowlegable and dressed up. If a guy in a suit with a beard came to my door with a woman who was wearing a pants suit I'd probably be inclined to listen to them more than if a woman in some flowered dress (obviously cheap looking) and some guy with the mandatory I'm middle-aged but can't expiriment and thus I potted my hair on the side and it's very short in a cheap suit that is bland along with some flowered print tie. The former couple I would think are trying to sell me like insurance or something important, the latter I would just shut the door. Whatever they're trying to sell me obviously hasn't made them look very successful.
I'm thinking of ordering a cycle of d-bol.
did anything exciting or alarming ever happen at your hall?
i remember only funny incidents, like one brother getting up there with his zipper down.
(i knew alot of brothers after that felt no shame to actually check down there before going up on the podium!
I like to consider myself and intellectual but damn if fart stories happening at the kingdom hall don't make me laugh till I cry.
I remember one year when doing unassigned territory the congregation we went do didn't have the normal mic set up, they had the microphone at the end of this long stick where the mic handlers would just hold the end of the stick to your mouth and they would comment. Of course our first meeting there the elder that my mother and I were staying with goes to comment and the microphone handler goes to put the mic to his mouth and smacks the elder's wife on the head. I thought I was going to die laughing, everyone hated me from then on. It was a long week.
