I registered to vote yesterday.

they already had all my information.

They already had all my information. All I needed to do was fill in my phone number and "sign right here, please." Another milestone, I guess. Five years out of the cult and I'm still bumping into progress.
Remarkable.
One question remains... which lying piece of self-serving, arrogant, numbnuts (possibly NO-nuts) do I want leading America into the future?

i watched this movie on netflix and i can really see why the atheist movement is growing.
it really does a good job of portraying the suffering in some parts of the world.

The Watchtower would have us believe Jehovah needs THIS:
... in order to feel superior in all the universe.
The only thing I can glean from that is God's ways are not my ways, and my moral principles will not allow me to bow to such a creature.
I still believe there is a creator out there with an agenda I don't understand. For the moment I am content not knowing all the answers. The one thing I know for sure is the Watchtower version of God is unacceptable.

I'm very much a minimalist. I would love to live out my life without all the trappings of modern life.
I often day dream about buying a slide-in camper for my truck and just disappearing off into the sunset.
In the U.S. There are still places you can drive 200 miles and never see a phone pole.

The parts of the magazines that DO NOT result in the need to back pedal, revise, adjust, clarify, or change completely due to to passage of time or a newly published apostate book rendering the position unsustainable, THOSE are the inerrant words from the mouthpiece of Jehovah on Earth?
Everything else is rubbish.
We have all heard current JWs comment on how many adjustments and clarifications there have been lately. If they would just stop and meditate on that phenomenon for a moment and consider all the changes just in the last ten years. Then compare the teachings of God's mouthpiece from 2015 to the mouthpiece of 1925. It's not even the same religion.

Then he said "it's (referring to the end) is close." Then he smiled. Here's the thing. When he said that, he didn't really look at me, but rather looked away, like someone knows something but knows they can't tell anyone.
Sounds like he's tired of trying to sell that same tired old story and can't look his friends in the eye while he toes the company line.

About 4 years before I started making the connections that there was something wrong with the organization and not me, I was in a pretty frazzled state and asked my doctor for Prozac (or some kind of anti-depressant.) He told me I would have to make an appointment with one of the clinic's psychiatrists. So I did.
I felt perfectly comfortable telling her exactly what had me twisted up, and that it mostly centered around the teachings, obligations etc... from my religion. Without hesitation she pointed out a few contradictory points that caused MASSIVE dissonance (now I know what that phenomenon is) in my brain and I knew immediately she was an agent of Satan trying to trip up my faith.
She asked me what I hoped to accomplish with this visit. I answered, "I'm not leaving here without a prescription..." and then the tears started. I couldn't help it. She told me a lot could be resolved if I were to just step back and examine my situation. I said, No!
She shook her head and wrote the prescription.
It took another 4 years for me to wake up. I went through hell to get here but I think I... WE are the lucky ones. How many never get to wake up?
