I cant believe this Trinity lark

well, my eyes were opened to the prospect of living in heaven, and not on earth like the dubya's preach.

i have listened to plenty of audio files from people that have left the witnesses and have became born again and if that floats your boat then thats great !

Thats just like me Rebel, you seem to talk direct from my own mouth.

I really don't know what to believe any more, but I do know something. I know that by ceasing to become a JW your eyes are opened so much and you actually see things and people for what they really are, instead of some conditioned kind of thinking. I think thats a good thing.

I myself am doing research into the bible and its background, and also I would love to believe it as it also has been my life. When something that has remained so close to you is challenged, you begin defending it at whatever cost. I still feel that the bible is truth, yet understanding its background holds no bars for me on an educational level.

I think only then we can find the truth.

What are the rules the WTS pharisees have burdended JWs with?

what do you all think are the "rules" jws have been given that smack of pharisaical (is that a word?

just reading 'in search of christian freedom' and come across this quote which seems to hit the nail on the head regarding the genuine love among the elders.:.

" whilst serving as an elder in the warrenton, virginia congregation, i went with the presiding overseer to investigate an alleged indiscretion reported by telephone from the elders of a neighboring congregation about an elderly, inactive, widowed sister, living in yet another congregations territory, taking care of a comatose old lady for her livelihood.. when we arrived, he questioned the sister about her supposed indiscretion ( the charge was based purely on conjecture ).

her reply was, "it has been over seven years since my husbands death.

When I was falling away believe it or not I had to write to an elder and ask him to come and see me, nobody even bothered to inquire where I was.

Even after I wrote my letter of DA , they still didn't contact me. I guess It was all too much trouble for the great 'Shephards of the Flock'

as we were all told long ago, none of us would have to worry about getting old and dying in this system of things, because the new system was "right around the corner".

as we all know, that corner was really a circle and the new system is always just out of reach.

my father, a witness for the last 60 years, is terrrified of dying, seeing as he never thought he'd have to deal with it.

not being racist in any way but i dont see any photos of black or spanish gatherings posting on the board , what is the reason for this yes if i bring out controvesy then feel free ,sorry no ime not racist,as i am from mixed parentage ,or dont other nationalitys feel the need to heal themselves after the borg have they been so dissasimilated that they dont trust anyone else,come out from behind your masks and reveal the real you.

i've never passed my test, never needed to because i lived near the city and could get from a to b at the drop of a hat.

now living in a village it almost impossible to get anywhere so i am about to start taking lessons, at 39 i'm embarrassed and am dreading starting lessons.

Well, my eyes were opened to the prospect of living in Heaven, and not on earth like the Dubya's preach. I have listened to plenty of audio files from people that have left the Witnesses and have became Born Again and if that floats your boat then thats great ! Yet one thing I cant get my head round is this idea of a Trinity.

It makes no sense to me whatsoever to believe in this... to me its seems almost crazy. You see, you could be presented with one idea to counter act the idea of the Trinity, yet look at another that backs it up ! Surely Jesus was just God's prophet and not God himself, or joined to God whatever you want to call it.

I remember a baptist preacher once saying :

' This is Jesus ! You cannot get him wrong ! You must believe ! You can get other things wrong, like the 1000 year reign etc, but you cannot get Christ wrong ! '

Well if thats the case, Im screwed. What do you think ??
