well, today i sent sites regarding un, silent lambs, missile stock, voting, other jw stuff...about 8 links.
to my friend that i said i wanted to help see watchtower for what it is.. i also told him to be careful....that if he asks hall about it they will say it is apostate or from satan, etc....and to think for himself.. i hope he does not decide i am too dangerous to be friends with.. i would appreciate prayers from any of you who would do so.
I did that, but over a period of time JW mentality crept in.
He hasn't spoke to me for over 2 months now; and the last thing he ever said to me was:
'You can't blame God for the mistakes HIS organization makes!'

the word "bigot" seems to be a word frequently used by jws.
i have also noticed that it is used frequently by participants on this board.
i have been called a bigot a couple of times by jws because i ask too many question they cannot answer.. .

And also, If Franz was so intent on gaining money through making a book, he would make it as sensational as possible. Surely this would include all the stories about Leo Greenlees and Ewart Chitty !

Simply say that the way he was treated has been eye witnessed by other members who were part of Bethel back in the 80's, people such as Randy Watters.
All the information Franz writes about has automatic back up ; the Watchtowers history is enough to back it up. The only thing that you could possibly question is the manner of the Governing Body meetings, everything else has its place in history and can be backed up with evidence.
Show the history of the Organization first, then let them read Crises Of Conscience; then it will not be so questionable.
in the spirit of minimus, as i just caught his thread about getting along with others here, and it posed a seperate question for me that actually came into play for me yesterday.
i'm not going to go into detail on that but the question remains nonetheless.. where do you draw the line at getting along with someone or merely just avoiding confrontation?
this comes into play in everyones life.
For the most part, when I feel I have to make a point, I will, doesn't matter who it is.
On very odd occassions, I will simply say whatever they want to hear. In fact, I think that tactic is best, shame I can't employ it enough.
in a "next-issu"e-box i noticed that one of the july/august-issues contains an article about having a "waiting attitude".
does anyone already have the issue and could post the article here?
i think these kind of articles that try to explain the delay of the end are always a good read.

not really sure what brought this on but lately i have been thinking about what i have done with my life and what i want to do with it.. as a jw we weren't really supposed to have dreams of the future unless it involved a paradise earth and immortality.
i can remember dreams of granduer in the entertainment field amongst other things.. i think it might be the fact that in a few years i will be at that *gasp* dreaded age (yeah its only 30 but its still a big deal for me) and feeling like i haven't accomplished anything with my life.
am i depressed?
I was raised a JW, so foolishly I have always had an 'everlasting life' on earth type approach.
When you are a Dubya, the future doesn't concern you because you know that whatever happens you will live forever, If you put trust in the Watchtower. Once you figure out that the Watchtower Isn't God's chosen channel, you really begin to worry about the future, and the life you have left behind.
Thankfully, we have all seen the light and are starting to make the effort now. I just feel for those that have devoted the best part of their life to the Watchtower and then decide it was all in vain.
My career ambitions are on the right road, I want to work for that terrible 'Wild Beast', The United Nations ..... or is it ? ( New Light ?!??! )
